Trinity Rotor Spacer Kit
Latest from Trinity:
The rotor spacer kit comes with the long pinion side spacer and 4 thin shims for spacing the rotor in the motor setup. It is important to space the rotor as close to the sensor board as possible without it hitting the sensor board.
Fits all 540 sized brushless motors with a 1/8” shaft.
TEP1157 - $1.99

I liked brushless...especially when it came out. Everyone was kind of on a equal plane....and welcomed relief from the constant tuning of motors and the cries from the "have" (those with motor knowledge and the abilities to cut comms, space armatures, add the right shims, that kind of stuff) and the "have nots"..those who bought an off the shelf P2K PRO and still got beat by the "tuners"..and I might add, cheaters...
And now we are entering the same "phase" with brushless....
Now, with Mod classes, I say great...I'll still research and build a faster motor than anyone on a club level just like I did with brushed motors..
But with 17.5 Blinky classes and spec classes....with all this rebiuldable capability and tuning ability...You are gonna have some pretty upset people who can't figure out why they are getting smoked down a back straight by someone running the same "blinky" controller and spec brushless motor..
And I am not talking about shims (though that is the second level of what is to come)...
I am talking about the variety of rotors, stators and the like to mod a motor into oblivion and ruin what is supposed to be a level field in some classes...

I don't think many serious motor tuners will have been waiting for some RC company to make the shims before they decide to use them.

I have withheld from registering for a long time and have tried to ignore your posts, but I fear that too many people read them and become disenfranchised with products based upon your opinions. Your positive opinions of new products vs your negative is probably 99:1.
You are saying that brushless motors have put people on an equal ground? That is absurd. When BL hit the scene did you embrace it and throw your hundreds of dollars at them? Or did you moan and complain how you had to throw out your comm lathe and stock pile of brushes, springs that you had already spent hundreds of dollars on? If you are competitively racing then be prepared to pay for what it takes to stay competitive. Racing is like a free market economy instead of socialist communism. Not everyone will win. Your posting has pegged anyone that knew about achieving motors peak performance as a "cheater". Are the only people faster than you a cheater? If someone takes the same tire you are using and shave it bald and run traction control "cheaters" because they tuned the tire to perform better? This can be attributed to something like on the freeway driving anyone going faster than you is a maniac, but the slower people are totally stupid and need to move over, anyone with a house bigger than you is living ridiculously and needs to scale back, etc.
Keep up with the times and embrace new technology and techniques, or be stuck as an HPI World cup contender from a decade ago. If a new product doesn't suit you, then don't buy it. Don't blast the manufacturer for making the hobby progress forward to the next level. Go back to turning comms, discharging and dead shorting your NiMH, and yelling out "CHANNEL 80!!! Who is on my frequency!!!" The rest of us will be having a great time and embracing the future.

All i need to see is local racing....When we race 17.5 Touring and I see peoples reaction to a car that is supposed to have parity pulling them down a 80 ft backstretch while both are in Blinky mode, It bothers me...
Like I said, in Mod, who cares...you do what you have to do...I have custom motors that I race...and feel no regret about anything I do to win..
But in our tt01 class...where some are using brushless 21.5's...I stick to a stock J motor and prefer using my driving and car building skills to win....Gives the little guy hope....and I am happy to show them what I have done to my car..
As far as cheaters?...Please, have you done any racing?..I am not saying all...But there are some with no regard of a club atmosphere who run timing on their motors and ESC's with firmwares that allow ESC timing advance in stock mode...On top of other stuff.
I have seen people leave racing over my 16 years of running....In both Nitro and electric because of the haves and have nots...And that bothers me.
then again, I guess one manufacturer agrees with my way of thinking..

A far as my reviews of products?....Someone has to call it like it is...

Yes, I race. Have you ever considered that people were being passed because someone had done things to make their car have lower rolling resistance? Better gearing? Better BL motor? Just because it is faster it does not make them a cheat.

Sure, and I have no issue with that....
What I have issue with is people or racers who one dont help others with their speed secrets...and others who don't stay within the rules...
I am not accusing or throwing a blanket over everyone who races....but to deny there are others who don't stay within the "parameters" of the rules is foolhardy and shortsighted...
I think that race management system I posted is a great idea...
Keep everyone on a level power field....and let your driving and building and tuning skills talk on the track..
