Traxxas Updates Many RTR Models with LiPos, Telemetry, And More

Latest from Traxxas:

Traxxas has announced that many of their models have now been updated with Power Cell LiPo batteries, a 2/3-Cell LiPo Balance Charger (#2935), and some models even received their new TQi transmitter with Docking Base as standard equipment.

VXL Models

Designed from the start for high-voltage, high-capacity LiPo packs, Traxxas’ VXL brushless models now include genuine Traxxas Power Cell LiPo batteries—the only LiPos certified to deliver the full performance potential of Traxxas’ VXL brushless models. The Rustler, Bandit, and Stampede VXL each include a 3300mAh Power Cell pack; Slash VXL includes a 4200mAh battery. Each LiPo-equipped model arrives with Low Voltage Detection activated to assure maximum battery life and prevent over-discharging. Charging care is just as important to LiPo life and performance, so a 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Balance charger is also included. Just plug the battery’s balance plug into the charger and you’re on the way to another run—no programming or settings required. Every time the pack is charged, the cells are charged individually to precisely balance voltage for optimum performance, run time, and cycle life. Experience the ultimate in electric horsepower with the only models designed for LiPo power from the start, and genuine Power Cell LiPo technology on board.

5807L Slash VXL Ready-to-Race® with TQi radio system, Velineon brushless Power System, Power Cell 4200mAh LiPo battery, and 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Charger MSRP $429.99
3707L Rustler VXL Ready-to-Race® with TQi radio system, Velineon brushless Power System, Power Cell 3300mAh LiPo battery, and 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Charger MSRP $399.99
3607L Stampede VXL Ready-to-Race® with TQi radio system, Velineon brushless Power System, Power Cell 3300mAh LiPo battery, and 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Charger MSRP $399.99
2407L Bandit VXL Ready-to-Race® with TQi radio system, Velineon brushless Power System, Power Cell 3300mAh LiPo battery, and 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Charger MSRP $379.99

E-Revo Brushless Edition and E-Maxx Brushless Edition

Traxxas’ most powerful trucks are better equipped than ever! The already-loaded E-Revo Brushless Edition and E-Maxx Brushless Edition now include two Power Cell LiPo batteries, two LiPo Balance Chargers, factory installed telemetry sensors, and the new TQi transmitter with Docking Base as standard equipment. Both Brushless Editions include 5000mAh 3-cell LiPos to unleash the full fury of the factory-installed and programmed Castle Creations Mamba Monster™ power system. This heavy-duty setup gives E-Maxx and E-Revo wheel-lifting torque and brutally quick acceleration on the way to over 65mph—and you can prove it! Add your iPhone or iPod touch (sold separately), and the Traxxas Link application (free on the Apple App store) displays speed, temperature, voltage, and rpm data on a customizable, recordable virtual dashboard. E-Maxx and E-Revo arrive Ready-To-Race with all the necessary telemetry sensors installed. Traxxas Link also lets you adjust the TQi’s pro-level features quickly and easily with its intuitive, high-def, touch-screen interface. While you hone performance with Traxxas Link, recharge the Power Cell LiPos with the included LiPo Balance Chargers for a perfect charge every time, no setting or programming required.

Slash 4X4 VXL and Stampede 4X4 VXL

Designed from the start for high-voltage, high-capacity LiPo packs, Traxxas’ Slash 4X4 and Stampede 4X4 models now include genuine Traxxas Power Cell LiPo batteries—the only LiPos certified to deliver the full performance potential of Traxxas’ 4X4 Velineon-powered brushless models. The LiPo-equipped models arrive with Low Voltage Detection activated to assure maximum battery life and prevent over-discharging. Charging care is just as important to LiPo life and performance, so a 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Balance charger is also included. Just plug the battery’s balance connector into the charger and you’re on the way to another run—no programming or settings required. Every time the pack is charged, the cells are charged individually to precisely balance voltage for optimum performance, run time, and cycle life. Experience the ultimate in electric horsepower with the only models designed for LiPo power from the start, and genuine Power Cell LiPo technology on board.

6708L Stampede 4X4 VXL Ready-to-Race® with TQi radio system, Velineon brushless Power System, Power Cell 4000mAh LiPo battery, and 2-Cell / 3-Cell LiPo Charger MSRP $499.99

Traxxas Spartan

With its included Power Cell LiPo 5000mAh LiPo packs on board, the Traxxas Spartan is the world’s fastest Ready-To-Race boat right out of the box. The howling fury of 50+ mph across the water with 6S LiPo power will make even the most insatiable, power-hungry enthusiasts jump up and take notice. Everything about Spartan means business: the super-rigid, 36-inch deep-V hull; smooth, cable drive efficiency; innovative water-cooling system; and precision aluminum and stainless steel drive controls.

5707L Spartan with VXL-6s Marine speed control, (2) Power Cell LiPo 5000mAh 3S batteries, (2) 2S / 3S LiPo Balance Chargers, 540XL brushless motor, TQi 2.4GHz radio system, Ready-ToRace® MSRP $599.99

Summit

There’s only one way to improve the unstoppable Summit: give it a pair of Power Cell 5000mAh 7.4-volt LiPo batteries for even more rock-busting torque and extended run-time on the trail! Summit scored the title of “Best Innovation” from the readers of RC Car Action Magazine, and earned the trophy with new technology never before seen in R/C. Equipped with the first-ever remote locking differential system (patent pending), Summit lets you lock and unlock the front and rear differentials right from the transmitter. In high gear, Summit blazes down the track or trail and attacks jumps at speed as its long-travel, Revo-base suspension soaks up the harshest terrain.

When the trail ends in an impossible climb there’s no need to turn around; just drop the transmission into low gear for a super-low 70:1 gear ratio and lock the front and rear T-Lock differentials for maximum traction. Summit’s proven 16.8 volt EVX-2 waterproof speed control delivers massive torque through a powerful Titan 775 motor, and safeguards the included Power Cell LiPo batteries with Low Voltage Detection.

5607L Summit 4WD electric monster truck, Ready-To-Drive® with 4-channel radio system, (2) 5000mAh 2-cell LiPo batteries, (2) LiPo balance chargers MSRP $724.99

well, they know how to upgrade and update electronics. if only they knew how to upgrade and update chassis's. at this point they're just sticking hydrogen fuel cells in model T's.

Well, come on now it's not quite THAT bad... Maybe more like putting a brand new power system in an '92 Camaro or something.

Seroiusly though, the Revo and variants are current designs. The rusty/stampede/bandit though... Could probably use some updating but they're still excellent bashers. No really solid reason to change it by a lot. Still tough as nails and flying off the shelves at x-mas time!

Now that the Summit has lipos, if you guys want to send me one for a test that'd be ok.

Now c'mon. There's a deeper conspiracy here that you guys aren't getting:

Traxxas is including Lipos in older vehicles so that you break more parts. They don't make money on the vehicle itself but there's tons of money to be made from selling singles.

I just assumed everyone already knew that.

That's why hobby shops try to sell the fast cars.

cool ideas here, but those chargers are only 800mah output per line, so that means the lipos are in the 6 or 8 hour charge range. That's long. Still nicer than using nickel, and yes, adding lipos is going to bust parts and kill motors nice and fast! Yay parts support!

Great parts support considering they are still milking their (over a decade) old stuff. But would their customers even know how to fix it? Doubt that!
