It's kinda late comming. I wish that Traxxas would bring something NEW to the table. The last new design they had was the REVO. Everything since then is merely repurposing old parts. All this is is a stretched Nitro Rustler.......They could have at least used a better suspension like from the Jato. Nice application, old design.....very very old.

two words come to mind.
1. stupid.
2. pointless.
AE already did this and nobody gave crap. nobody bought one. nobody cared. nobody even had a friend that has one, 14 year old forum superstars friend included.
nobody has interest in a 2wd nitro anymore. hell aside from 1/8 buggy racers nobody cares about nitro anymore.

this is just to retarded to even pay attention to. why did i click this thread? waste of my time.

LOL Hooligan. Tell us what you think!

Unfortunately, I kinda agree to an extent. I was very disappointed to see a Nitro Rustler all over again. Not that it's a bad truck but they're a pain to work on, the rear shock towers are really weak, ... There's a whole list of improvements that would be fantastic. It's time for at least a block point change Traxxas!

That being said, I would LOVE to race 2wd nitro SC. It'd be like 2wd gas truck but with fender rubbing in the corners! Possibly the most fun racing class ever. But everyone is bored with 2wd so it'll never get to show its awesomeness... *sigh*

Just what we needed, another obnoxious nitro vehicle that newbies to the hobby will be buying, playing with until it doesn't want to stay running, and then selling when they get tired of taking to the hobby shop to get it fixed.

2wd nitro trucks are a blast, no doubt. I had a ball with mine. Way more fun than the electric.

Having said that, I think it's a dead class. Too bad, but it is what it is.

Traxxas, it is really time to bust out some new tooling....

Personally, I'm not a nitro guy, but for some reason, I want this truck, just so I can shoot it up and down the parking lot in front of our office and scare the neightbors . And I do agree that AE did the nitro SC10 and it wasn't much of a splash, however, with Traxxas's mighty marketing power, I do see a possibility that a 2wd nitro spec class racing popping up with these. At the end of the day though, the racing classes are not of Traxxas's concern, their eyes are on the mass market (hobbyist and people being introduced to the hobby for the first time) and to a new comer, nothing is more exciting than the smoke and noise of a nitro engine....it never fails

Who is Traxxas? Oh, that's right, I saw them on a shelf in ToysRUs next to a Tyco something or other.

It amazes me that they are still a leader in anything when it isn't much innovation coming out of their camp. They are at least better than Losi with a "Chrome" edition of everything they just released. I think the Slayer was a good indicator that Nitro SC wasn't meant to be. I've seen one of them in all the time it has been out there.

Maybe being king of one-off stuff is going to be their specialty. Maybe they will do a Nitro Dragster and then a Nitro XO-1. Step right up! That'll be $1500 please.

I got to check one out at the local hobby town in orland park a couple of days ago. Looks wise i really like the new style body and paint job on the Rob McCachren version. Having a much lower center of gravity than an electric slash it should corner and jump much better. After running electric, nitro and gas rc stuff over the years i would only purchase it if it was gas powered and electric and larger 5th scale gas vehicles were no longer available for some reason. I like the looks and the chassis set up is pretty standard and should work well, price point is reasonable but nitro fuel mess, tuning, starting etc is just to problematic for many new to the hobby and many experienced guys are letting go of it and going brushless these days as well. For the price of a gallon of nitro you can easily get 3-4 gallons of gas and a bottle 2 cycle oil. I can totally understand offering multiple cars and trucks based off the same platform or with some mild improvements(especially in the current economy) fullscale car makers have done that for decades. If traxxas produced a reasonably powered gas engine for 10th and 8th scale cars and put it in this i would be first in line for one. Maybe the diehard nitro bashers will embrace this one but i really dont see a class popping up for this truck with the competition racers or anything like the original slash did for short course fans.
