2013 Dirt Nitro Challenge: Tekno RC Sweeps Open 1/8 E Buggy, Wins Pro4

Latest from Tekno RC:

The Fear Farm in Phoenix, Arizona hosted a great event that Tekno RC was proud to have sponsored. The Dirt Nitro Challenge is always an exciting event bringing out amazing drivers from all over the world. The Tekno RC team showed that it is a force to be reckoned with taking podium finishes in many classes!

With the introduction of the SCT410 to our ranks, the Short Course PRO4 race was one to watch. Barry Baker (SCT410) would take the 1st round TQ, edging out fast guy Ryan Lutz. Lutz set a faster time in the 2nd round of qualifying but Austin Blair (SCT410) would steal it away again. There was a double A Main format and Austin got off to a slow start in A1. Lutz took the A1 win by a few seconds. In A2, Austin got away clean while Lutz had a few hiccups. The win was determined by combined times and Austin finished just 0.9 seconds ahead of Lutz. Tyler Vik (SCT410) ended up 3rd.

In Pro 1/8th Electric, Austin Blair (EB48) took the TQ. Curtis Door (EB48) and Tyler Vik (Tekno V4 HB D8) also made the A Main. Austin lead the first half of the race but a couple bobbles would cost him a couple spots to finish 4th. Tyler Vik was right there behind him in 5th and Curtis took 8th.

Another great race to follow throughout the weekend was the Open 1/8th buggy class. Tekno RC took all 3 podiums positions in a well fought battle between some awesome drivers. While Chad Panek was able to take the overall TQ, Zach Burnside, followed by Thomas Jones and Ryan Hughes swept the podium with their EB48 buggies.

In the Open 4x4 Short Course class the new Tekno RC SCT410 completely dominated the competition. Thomas Jones TQ'd as well as won the Open 4x4 class followed by teammate Jeff White in 2nd.

We all had a blast this weekend and we will definitely be back next year.
