Are you going to be running indoor offroad every week at all, if so do you know when? Just wondering, as for the shots its not as bad as it sounds and It did wonders for me.

Tarheel
11-26-2002, 07:43 AM
Can't say as to the WOOD running every week end or not at this time. It kind of depends on the crouds. Last year we did because the crouds were 70-80 drivers every week through the real cold months(Jan-Mar), so we will wait and see. it makes track maintenance very hard to keep up with every week, but I will agree to go every week if the crouds show like last year. According to the vote earlier this year as to keep the track or put in a carpet track, we had hundreds voting to keep the dirt. So we will see how it goes. i would love to race every week end starting in January if the crouds show.
:)

ps. Thanks for the info on the shots.:)

Well....in an effort to get my racing "fix", I've started putting my truck back together. I guess I'll be running a truck this week.

Anyone still planning to show up early for some track maintenance?

Jeremy, long time, no see! You going to make it to Rosewood this weekend?

The mfe is a rolling chassis I have a body for it but Jerry is using it until our bodies come in from Skipgear! I was looking for $100 but that may be negotiable!

Not looking for a trade! I have 2 buggies and 2 trucks a 4wd and a gas truck. I am just looking to get rid of some of the ones I am not using!

Prepare for some of our VA crew to be down there for some racing Saturday. Josh K, Jady B, Ryan C, Derrick (Dirty D), and myself. Looking forward to it. Haven't been down since last winter.

We might show up early enough to help some with the track as well. When are you guys getting there? I don't want to be there before everyone else.... Long drive and all, Don't want to get up any earlier than necessary... ;) I read Ronzee's idea of filling in those steps on the tabletop and maybe that dropoff from turn 2 as well. I think that is a great idea. I think that it would remove allot of luck from that section. Turn marshalling there would be allot less stressful as well. Just my two cents.... I'll help regardless.

You think there might be any interest in mod truck? There may be 4 or 5 of us wanting to run it. We'll come prepared to run stock OR mod, just in case. Hopefully some of you guys might be up for it as well.

See you fellas soon....

Chad

BTW

Just read that Paved nationals is in Durham (I believe)..... Freaking cool!! With Mod off-road at Tiltyard and this next year is gonna be a killer year to be on the right coast.

Bodido- There is no luck involved now at the table top if you have any skills at all!!! We filled in the bottom so there is a landing there now also put a lip on the table top so you can jump off of it! All the table top needs now is, there is a hole on the run up that will kick you to one side or the other! That needs to be filled in! Filling in the whole table top is going to be a job for more than the 3 or 4 people we get before opening and I am not sure if we will have enough GOOD dirt to do that! The faster guys had no problems with the table top and some of the new guys got it after so help with set up and a few driving pointers!!

Hey what's up everybody. What spring and shock oil combo did you guy's run on the LOSI truck's last time out. Joseph will be running the xxx-t in stock, and I'll have the T-3 in stock also; it worked pretty good last time we ran, maybe I can hit 15 lap's with a smoother track now.
Thank's in advance for any Losi help, and we're still gonna try to be there early for track maint.
Anyway's JIMMY 27, GLENN, don't ya'll eat to much today and I'll see ya'll Saturday, looking forward to eating some dirt:D :D :D

Well, I know that filling in the tabletop is some work,, heck, it took me like 5 or 6 wheelbarrows of dirt to do just that little on the bottom of the thing, which did make a definate improvement. But,, if it was all filled in, if we wanted to, the track could be run in both directions.

Now, to all you out there, if you'd like to try a class that's not as easy as some think, come and try running Spec trucks. Most think of this class as a beginners class,, it's not. It's a cost control class. Cheap batteries and motors makes for some interesting runs. Yeah, they can go fast, but with maybe 1300 packs, gear too high and you dump. something to think about,,

Well, I'm talking to the boss, and maybe there's hope for me and Sat.'s. I might be able to persuade him to let me work in the mornings, leaveing the afternoons open to run the 'puter.,,,, Well see,,

Later,, it's tinme for turkey!!!:D

Good racing by all.
We need input on the time for the "WINTER BASH". Don't want to clash with any other big race. Let me know whats good for you and we will try and schedul the race to fit as many as we can. I know we can't please everyone, but we will do what we can. This year's race will have trophies and cash and ??? Don't miss it.
Again, good racing by all and congrads to all the winners. See you next saturday.

12-01-2002, 07:54 PM
Hey Tarheel, I have an idea for the "WINTER BASH". Maybe you could hire about five people to be corner marshalls for the day. I think five would be enough, two on the front straight, one on each side of the table top, and one on the wall next to the pit area. They can rotate stations after every heat race to keep from getting worn out.

Now, where does the money come from? Glad you asked! Say you have 75 enteries, if you add just five dollars to the entry fee, that's 75 dollars per marshall for the day. I don't think five dollars is going to "make or break" anyone. If the entry fee is 25 or 30, what's the difference?

Here's the best part. What does the racer get? An entire day of racing without ever having to marshall a single car. PLUS...and here is the real selling point, for marshalls, hire some of those nice ladies from...HOOTERS!!!!!!

What do you think?

LEADFOOT

Why would I want someone that is not a racer to marshall my race!!! Racers need to marshall racers! But just my $.02!

But if Glenn can get the Hooter's girls I would pay $5 just to see them run and bend over to get my car!!! H*** I would wreck just to see that! I guess I want win the bash if that happens!! LOL

Congrats to all the winner's! I know I saw some new faces in the front of Stk. Truck this week! I know they were glad there was a mod. truck!

Ron Zee
12-02-2002, 12:14 AM
Jwest,, actually, I'm in favor of eliminating the thing totally and replacing it with maybe a set of doubles like in the middle of the track. The one thing that absolutely needs to be addressed on the table top is,, the board the runs the width of the thing along the lower "step" of the tabletop. My truck and a few others happen at times to hit it just right, and it'll stop your forward motion dead, and in my case, the truck bounced off of it, backwards! The board was put there to help "Hold" the dirt on the lower step, which is why it's raised up a little bit. THe raised part is what is snagging mine and other trucks.

And,, I hope you don't think I was complaining that day,, I think of it more as ,,, "constructive critizism".:D You guys did a lot of work on the track,, and it needs it. Besides,, I think I did make a comment like,," you guys are doing the work, who am I to bitch??":) Maybe the next offroad race, I'll be able to get there earlier and actually hep out with some of the repairs. But, you know how Glenn likes to keep me up in the 'puter room,,,,

God,, I had so much fun watching 10 Mod. trucks run,, it was hard to call any of the race!! 10 trucks started, and 9 finished. I don't know about you guys, but thats seems pretty darn good to me.

I'll post the results soon,, forgot the floppy in the toolbox,,,,:(

JWEST
12-02-2002, 12:56 AM
It takes me a little under 3 hours to get to the track, so I can't be there except on race days, so tearing down the table top would have to be done by some of the local racers....It is a good idea though... Only if the jumps put in its place was something new to the layout, or just an improved table top.... It's hard to build jumps to accomadate all skill levels and the speed of mod versus stock... So if new jumps are built these things need to be kept in mind.....

Right now, Rosewoods setup on the road course is a little technical,, so the faster "super nitros" would find the track a real handful. "Normal" sized nitro tourers seem to getting by pretty good though, but the 1/12th scale cars do turn faster laps. Then again,, it's like driving a car with 30' wide lanes to them,,,

Well... I must admit. We were slow.... Sad but true. As a whole our VA crew had our heads hanging real low at Denny's that night. At least til the Oreo pie made it to the table. ;) We were really hoping to lay the smack down on you guys, but it just didn't happen. (Chad tips imaginary hat towards the south) You guys spanked us for the most part. Even Josh couldn't really put it together... Normally he's the saving grace on road trips.

Jerry West is fast!!! I guess you guys know that though. 16 laps in that much traffic is freakin impressive.

An added note on the main.... Everyone seemed to play real nice!! I was pretty worried that a hackfest was unavoidable with 10 in the main, but it seemed real clean considering the crowded track. That was just my perspective, though. It could have been ugly up front, and I wouldn't have noticed, however. I was busy clawing my way from dead last, due to a first lap incident with my bud Ryan at the banking dropoff.

Mod is a ton of fun on that track... That was only my second mod race, so I don't have too much experience to back it with, but what a blast. It's a whole new ballgame when you only see full throttle on the straight, and not for very long, either. I was waaaay overmotored with a Peak 10 double, but I ran what I had, and smiled allot!!

Thanks guys

We'll be back

Rc4me2, We race indoors one week end, then rotate to outdoors the following week end. The outdoor asphalt track is high traction and smooth. I still think they would have made nice marshalls :(

Anyone got any ideas for repairing turns 1&2. They seem to grow buggy eating potholes. It's going to be hard to patch because the dirt is so thin on the banking.
How bad would it be to strip that area and put new dirt down. Or do we need to just patch as needed to get through the winter?

Chance, i would like to clear the banking wood from one and two and make it flat. But it would take 5 or 6 guys to do it. I could get the paneling for the inside walls like we did the rest of the track. But like I said, it will take 5 or 6 guys. The alternative is keep repairing untill summer and fix it then. I will do what everyone else wants to do.

Glenn, if you get this, registor me for Stock TC. I "might" make it out for one qualifier and a main. I'll have to call to make sure. I'll be at work, but I'm gonna try and get off semi early to make it out for the end of the race. I don't feel like changing my setup, so I'm gonna be running a carpet setup. :D Oh yeah, I need to pick up a truck body for my T3 as well..... hmmmmmm what else.... I dunno. We'll see.

Doug, The indoor track opens at 12noon and we start racing at 3pm. Spec trucks run the Trinity spec motor and the 6 cell spec battery. You can run any truck, spec just refurs to the class not the truck. Come on out and join us. Check out our web page for additional info on times and schedule. We also post the racing results on the web page. Rosewoodrc.com
Maybe we'll see you there.

Glenn- Thanks for the info. I was looking into the spec class for my son, but I don't know if I will have time to find a spec motor. He can just run stock truck. If I run stock truck and mod truck will I have time inbetween heats to change my motor? Do you guys allow 3300 batteries? Thanks Glenn.

Well looks like outdoor season is coming to an end huh? hehehe.. time to dust off my T3. Looks like I'll have to save my TC and 1/12th for Virginia Beach and Jacksonville this winter! Glenn, I'll be by the shop Monday to pick up the Paint and T3 body. Guess I gotta get my T3 ready for this Saturday...

As for 3300's... Glenn sells them... so he allows them. I've ran them there as well as other people. Very nice batteries! Oh yeah Glenn, did you see Trinity's new Spec Batteries??

Jimmy Mac

Tarheel

Doug, don't worry about spec motors. We've got them at the track. Yes, we sell 3300's and allow guys to use them. They will be ROAR aproved in January anyway. Hard to say if you will have time to swap motors between stock and mod. Depends on how many heats there are and which heat your in.

Well guys, you missed a great day for racing at the WOOD today. Oh well, quess everyone is doing honey do's and shopping. If you guys aroung the triangle still don't have power, my sympathy goes out to you all. I know how it feels. Hope everything gets fixed asap.

Jimmy, yea i heard about the new batteries. New spec batteries comming out, 1600's. We don't really need them, but they will be nice to have if you want them.

RC4me2, not getting on your case. Come out and run with us when you can.

Too cold for me to be out, my blood is thin!

Concerning 1/12th scale, it looks like most places run 4 cell. Do we need to go to 4 cell at Rosewood too? No need to be odd, if people from other tracks show up, they are more likely to be 4 cell anyway. What do you think?

No banking in 1&2....sounds like fun. Can 5 or 6 people do it in one day? It might be better to just patch for awhile till everything is ready.

What if...remove the wood bank and run the track down to the wall, making a short straight along the back wall with a double or table top. Just have two 90 degree turns with something in the middle, that way the track won't be the same at both ends.

Hey everybody, I sure would have liked to have been there; but I had to work, Joseph had B-BALL camp, and I've been sick on top of that.
Doug, I've got a spec motor that Brad at MINDBLOWN just tuned for me; don't need it now as my son want's to stay in stock classes. He drives so great I cant tell him no. Anyway's, I got the motor, 5 spec batteries, and a XXXT that I need to sell if your'e interested. Let me know here on any of it.
Hey Jimmy, what setting's do you use on the 16 x 7 to charge your GP-3300's, and to cycle them? Thank's for any help! Want to ask a few thing's about carpet setup's when I see you next. I'll try not to bug you too bad though.

Chance, good idea about the two 90 degree turns with a jump in between. 5 or 6 guys could do it in a week end, but i don't know if this is the time to do it now. Indoor off road season is here now. If we got 5 or 6 FIRM volunteers then we could. Maybe just do the repairs in turn one and two for this season and then do it in the summer. What ever the drivers want, i game. ;) See you this saturday on the off road.

Hey Parttime, actually I have two that I could sell. Looking to get Joseph a buggy since that is what they run at some of the big races that have a youth class. Anyway's, I'll take $75.00 for one, and $100.00 for the other. Both are roller's with good tire's; holeshot's of course. First truck is mostly stock, has bearing's etc..Second truck has lunsford turnbuckle's, light main shaft in tranny, and a lightened motor plate. This truck only has three run's since I rebuilt the tranny, new case on tranny also. Anyway's I could take them Sat. , but I can't stay, got another family get together Sat. evening. thanks for the invite. but my t3 is like// wowus me! my buggy is in fair shape though. just need rear rims & tires. (rims are scarce around here and ACRC in level cross is like a ghost shop. does rosewood have a lot of wide ae rims? what rubber/insert combo is popular with b3 buggies? at ACRC in greensboro(God rest it's soul) i ran of x-2000's silver and red compounds with pro-line dual stage buggy foams. when the tires start go bald i would cut them open and use dual stage truck foams. my favorite front tires were losi diamonds ( now discontinued-snif snif) and pro-line radious ribs. i also custom made some losi front tires called the "big asserz". they were wider than the old wide-fives from pro-line a few years back. and they worked too!:D

We have rims for ae in stock here at the track. Come on out and have some fun with us. Look me up when you get here. I'm the old gray headed fart in the parts room. I just got an ae truck myself and maybe i'll get to run this week end too! I know it's a ways from Greensboro, but we would really like you to try the "WOOD".

I think most of the surface is in good condition. Just need to get some clay packed into a couple of problem areas.

Jeremy, I'm no motor man but, I have a lathe and I'm not scared to use it! The more you cut off, the lighter and faster it gets, right! ;)

Rob, that will be good. I think mainly we need to patch some potholes.

nomac, I have an Enforcer 10, I think the specs for wheel base and track are the same as the DD car. Axle to axle with 1.5 degree mounts is 10 3/8 in or 265mm. Front width on the axle flange that the inside bearing goes against with the arms level is 7 5/8 in or 194mm. Rear width from drive pin to drive pin with the 1.5 mounts and arms level is 7 1/2 in or 190mm. I'm using rc10gt rear hub carriers, they widen the rear 1/8 per side and have a higher camber mount location.
I gave numbers with no tires because of the different offsets of different rims.

KilRuf, a couple of weeks ago, Glenn was looking a truck to race, you should have traded with him for one of those buggies he has. ;)

Jimmy, I'll trade you a nice B3 for your T3 if you want to go buggy. I have 3 buggies to choose from. 7th out of 22 is not bad though. That's the top 30%. Remember this was your first time out this year on the off road too. It gets better as you go along. But i'll still trade if you want a buggy.

Ron, thanks for setting up my truck. It ran great, I just need to cycle my spec packs. Good calling job as usual.

Jimmy27, thanks for your help calling and the parts room. We just need to work on your volume. I think we will turn it down when your up there, and turn it up when ron goes up.

Driver of the night: Jairo Ortiz, he's a natural. Just started racing off road this year. Has only raced a few times and finished 2nd out of 22 stock trucks. My hat goes off to Jairo for great driving. It only gets better from here Jairo.

Hope all had fun weather you won or not. If you missed it, wish you could have been there. Great racing by all and good pizza too.

Hope to see you saturday on the asphalt.

But if they do, i will stock it also. Good race last night . My truck was fine, i just need to cycle my batteries. Hope the charger is working good for you. See you soon.

Man, that was a good Spec race last night!! Even if I didn't win, I'd still say that. I came off the drivers stand with my hands shaking, God what a race!! So, close to leading,, he'd bobble, then I would,, going back and forth,, last lap, pulled it out. Actually, I didn't think I'd catch him at the end,, but he went that little bit extra wide after the E-turn, and for the first time all night, my truck actually found a little traction and hugged the inside of the turn. I just hope that I can maintain that level of coolheadedness down in Fl. at the Snowbirds.

Glenn, do you happen to have sets of bearings foe the T3/B3?? Found 3 of them a little less than smooth tonight. seeing as they're the original ones,, maybe it's time to change 'em all. Might want to stock up on sets for the TC3 too.
Too bad you didn't run mister Wilson,, you might've gotten by me,, your truck does seem to go quicker than mine,,,,,,

Hey Glenn, some news for ya. If ya haven't heard already... Roar states that the Electric Touring Foam tire rule only applies to carpet tracks. Not outdoor. (this was not stated in the rule book)So that means no Foams for asphalt. Only Rubbers... :D Okay, so we are faster with foams. But rubbers might last longer and make racing more even? I dunno. I'm willing to go back to rubbers. Besides this is what will be run at the 2003 Roar Nations at Durham. Rubber handouts! Looks like I'll be needing to get some Takeoffs! Anyhow, are you gonna enforce that rule for next season? Just curious.

Well I'll show up Saturday to see who else shows up. If not to race, then at least to practice with my XXX-S G+. This should give you TC3 guys a chance since my TC3 is up for "renovations". ;) See you guys theres....

Hank,
Yea.. im gonna have to keep Joseph away from my stuff so he won't steal any more secrets.. he's good enough without em.

about last week's race...

In all three heats I was horrible, but I was still lucky enough to make the "A" main. I asked Glenn if he would lend me his tires for the final( thanks Glenn!!), and what a difference that made... The most laps i got in a heat was 14, in the final I started 7th and ended up 2nd with 15 laps!!:D

My Goal for next race is 16 laps... hopefully i can hit som 19.5's since i've been hitting 19. 8's already. Being constistent is definitely the key. Can't wait till next weekend!! Man what a blast Off-Road is!!:p

P.S.- if anyone else has any dogbones let me know i will buy it from you... all i need is one.

Ortiz, I might have one. If not, I'll just take one off my TC3 since I won't be racing it til Carpet opens in Virginia. I'll be running my XXX-S G+ tomorrow. So take it easy on me! Weather is suppose to be like high of 59 degrees. Sunny. Tomorrow is also the "Shortest Day."

As for Tires, Takeoffs work real good. You can get a set of 4 preassemble/glued/mounted for $32. CS22 for Cold Track. CS27 for Warm Track. CS32 for Hot Track. These are what the "premounts" come in. And these tire ratings do work. Don't try running a CS22 or CS27 on a hot day just because they are softer than CS32's. You'll actually loose traction because you went past the rubbers heat tolerance. Blah blah blah. There is also Sorex with similar ratings. They are excellent tires. But more expensive. And you have to play the foam insert guessing game. With them and the track design at the "wood", I'd say a medium insert might be the best starting point. HPI inserts have been used with Sorex tires with great results.... Can't remember which color... Reds? Or Greens....? And Yokomo ABS Dish Wheels are about the best you can use. Yokomo even has a new Dish Wheel that is even truer and more balanced than the ABS ones.

Blah blah blah, see yall there tomorrow. Gotta finish up my XXX-S G+.......

Glenn,
are you planning on putting a completely new surface down or just in the area that is getting the new layout? Just to put in my 2cents. I think it would be a good idea to do the entire track with new clay, but thats alot of work. It will most likely take longer than a weekend. Between taking up the old and cleaning out all the junk in the new before its laid, packing it, adding appropriate additives to the clay (if you want it to be a blue grove track) and thats not even including the cost- dirt, lumber, chemicals, machine rental- bobcat, tillers, tampers, etc., labor. Plus the track most likely won't be run-in in time for the winter bash. Not that thats a big deal.

If you don't do the entire track that will make it hard to have consistant tracktion.

Rob

12-23-2002, 12:58 PM
If we were to do the whole track I would not take up the old stuff. That stuff is like Cement, Leave it for a good base. Just my thoughts and that would also cut down on the time..

blake whitehead
12-23-2002, 01:34 PM
Glen,
just my thought,it would be better to leave what is there1,will take most of a day to clean the old out 2 what you have is good and solid.I would recommend taking the small jumps down and the table and of course the pipes and then lay a good layer off dirt. Then add the jumps.I dont know what the budget would be but a 100$ for one af those small front end loaders would cut alot of time out.Cant think of what you call them. You can rent them by the day.( a bobcat)Thats it.You need to lay atleast a 2 inch layer down.Another time saver would ba a lawn mower with no deck or one with a deck will work until you need to pack the jumps. Also a roller that will hook to the back of a mower.Just my thoughts and and time saving ideas.Oh yeah if you plan to do this get a couple tarps they do wonders when building.

Part-time
12-23-2002, 03:01 PM
I could be wrong but I think what is there isn't good and solid its falling apart. Every time we tamp a patched spot more comes up. Plus the clay won't stisk to whats there. It will be like pouring new concrete ontop of old eventually its going to chip up.

,,,, maybe it's just me,,, but I thought offroad was supposed to be bumpy,,,,and that dirt isn't supposed to be as hard as concrete. If I wanted to run slicks on my truck,, I'd run it on the onroad track

Jeremy, buddy....me, not on your side? I'm hurt! ;)
I'm all for a change, but one little problem....we waited too late to start (I think). The way I see it (with my warpped sense of reality) is, either fix it, or patch it. Fix it, is major work, most likely more than one day. Patch it, is what we've been doing.
I'm game for whatever. Just don't want "good intensions" to ruin the winter race season.
We have gotten away from "driver meetings" before the racing starts. Let's have one this Saturday to discuss what we would like to do, and figure out what we can do.

Now....looks like 2wd is going to be good this Saturday! Might be time to break out those HRC parts I've been saving.
Does anyone make "anti-xxx" spray? :)

Hey Ron I'd have to agree off road is just that. But if Glenn is thinking of redoing the track I was just throwing somethings out there that would have to be decided on. The hard thing about dirt in my opinion is keeping a consistant track surface. Either it needs to be fairly loose or packed and sticky. Packed and dusty doesn't work to well. If a track is kept loose then it needs to be dragged and dampend, if its going to be a (blue Groove) track than it needs to be hard and sticky. When I used to run on dirt oval in NJ we would drag, wet then roll the track on race days. Rolling didn't make it hard it just packed it enough for a good set of step pins to dig in.:)

Just my thoughts, but Outdoor track are mostly rough and loamy because of the weather, therefore indoor tracks need to be HARD packs and Groomed therefore most end up becoming not blue grovved but well tractioned!!! Most hobby shop owners don't want to put up with the loose tracks indoors because of the tracking of dirt every where!

I myself would love to see a track where you can run Taper pins or super squares and run the same tire more than one race weekend!!!! My holeshots are only making it one race day and really by the mains I need to mount new ones, But that is part of racing! Not ccomplaining just saying what I would like to see!!!

Well the way I see it, a major track over haul won't be worth it unless if we get a good turnout like last year. So for now minor maintance is good enough. Oh course we could argue that we'd get more people if the track was in better condition... but first lets just see what can be done til then. Blah blah blah....

Anyhow I'll see you guys in buggy class Saturday. Gonna rip some Losi's up!! ;) Got some parts in today for the Buggy. So now just looking for the tires.....

Ortiz, wanna buy my XXX-S G+?? hehe. I think one of the things that made it look slow as the fact that I was running Rubber tires. That and the cold weather. Running at the "wood" with foams all season made the TC3 fast. Now I just need to borrow Ron's Lap Counter and see just how slow the XXX-S to my TC3. I believe the fastest times with my TC3 in Stock class was Mid 18sec laps. Low 19's are easy. So I'll shoot for them with the XXX-S. I'll bring it Saturday to try out Kinwalds Asphalt setup. Only thing is, I don't have a one way. Anyone have a XXX-S oneway I can borrow??? I think a oneway will speed up the car alot. Especially in Stock Class. Anyhow, we'll see.

Catch yall Saturday....

foget-a-bout-it guys! you can NEVER get another indoor dirt surface quite like the original ACRC. "nobody can keep it smooth, LAIDdown, and sticky like YO MAMA!"

P.S. the original yo mama sauce has been found! time-time for some> time for some tracshun!

Pete- I can show you a track that is indoors and gets rebuit about 4 to 5 times in a 6 month period (complete rebiulds) that would make the old ACRC sick!!! Don't get me wrong I MISS the old girl but we can get another track that is close if not better!!! We just need the right clay and alittle elbow grease!!!

Hope you guys made out better than I did... I got a lump of coal... snif... snif.

If spectator seating was moved up a row or two we could use the bottom as the drivers stand and push the track out to all three walls. Of course that would bring up a whole new set of problems, like some drivers might have a buddy sitting in the crowd with a straw and shoot spit balls at the back of other drivers heads!

How many more days...:)

I'm up for anything but if you put the drivers stand there how will people watch the races? Basically its whatever Glenn desides to do. We all know that Glenn wants to make us all happy but thats impossible. We also know that hasly made decisions usually turns upsidedown. I'm up for a new layout but on the same hand the current one rocks. It's technical, fast and alot of fun. I got the ok from my wifey to race Saterday so see ya'll there. (not that I need permission but my family is coming in from out of state so that means she'll be alone all day w/ the inlaws.) Chance will anyone be there early for maintenance?

Hey, I was joking about moving the drivers stand! It's too late in the game to be making major changes.

Rob, I'm not sure if it's needed. Might want to get Glenn to respond to that. Did anyone notice any spots that need repair? I'm sure there's something that could use some work, I just don't recall.

npresme, I'm setup for stock, and I think some others are too. We might have six or eight in 2wd this week, it would be cool if we all ran the same class. This track seldom has that many buggies.

npresme
12-26-2002, 09:14 PM
Chance- there will be a few more buggies because all of us want to run them before going to Ohio the next two weekends!

All the info is on the website www.rosewoodrc.com

most people show up between 1030 and 11. Racing probably wont start till sometime after 2.

Glenn,

Will you please save me(if you got any wheels in) a set of wheels and a pair of hole-shots for tomorrow please??

Glad to see more and more people wanting to come over and race!!

Everyone is showing up early for track main. So if you are not going to work on the track then don't show up too early!

I have noticed that a few people show up early and don't help on the track but instead go ahead and get there batteries charged and then they are the first on the track before any of the patches have time to set up!! Then we are back to the same holes at the end of the race day!! But these are just my sights so use your own GOOD judgement!!

If help is needed on the track we would be glad to assist.

Ortiz
12-27-2002, 04:58 PM
What's wrong with people coming early?? I'm always early.. no matter what I'm doiing.

Maybe people dont have time to charge batteries the night before, so they come early to do it.

When i first came to race off-road(about a month ago) I had no clue what kind of maintenance the track needed, so i just sat there and did nothing. Now, i try to do a little between every heat just so everyone might have similiar track conditions.
So maybe some other people dont know either and they let the salty dogs do it.

not only that but the tools are limited... so not everyone that comes early can help.

I understand what you mean about people not helping then being the first person on the track, but your always gonna have people do that no matter what you tell them.

Jimmy, you bringing the xxx-tec tomorrow? I'll bring my TC3 so we can run some laps to see how it holds up. If it does ill get one next month...

Anyway,
Hope to see everyone there tomorrow!!

chance
12-27-2002, 05:52 PM
Ortiz, chill...it will be ok! :) The people that get out and sweep between rounds and heats do notice when someone else helps. Sweeping is the only thing that can be done after the racing starts and it makes a big difference on the track.

Tarheel, are you or Jimmy27 going to be at the track early to open for maintanence?

npresme
12-27-2002, 05:53 PM
I first I never charge the night before either!!

And If you tell the ones that show early and don't do anything that the track opens at 12, Then they will not be there early!!!

I understand that the tools are limited, and it seems that every week we have a few more show up early!

Tarheel
12-27-2002, 06:14 PM
Ron is planning on opening the track early tomorrow. I think around 9:30 . If you would like to help with track maintenance, you may show early and Ron will let me know who you are. We will give free racing to those that help. Anyone else that wants to show early to charge batteries may do so too. The difference is they don't get to race for free. I appreciate the maintenance you guys are doing while my back is healing. Sounds like a good crowd
for saturday. Come on out and show off those new toys you got for Christmas. I'll be running spec class again. Maybe Rob won't have his blocker. lol. Just kidding Rob. Looking forward to a good day of racing.

Ortiz, I have a pair of rear holeshot's with one run on them; you can use them tommorrow if you need too. I'm gonna run the xxx-t, so I won't need them.
If work is light in the morn. I'll be there early too; just never know what I've gotta do till I go check the truck's out that I look after on Sat. Anyway's I will see you tommorrow, 1 for stock truck; and one for stock buggy.
