Im interested in buying a Tamiya TXT-1 ,all that is holding me back from buying it is, is it very durable? I have a Tamiya TAO4S and i about killed it im not very nice to it i about drove it to destruction i decided to save that for the track ,and not for the street. So I'm wondering if the TXT-1 can live through just about anything?

i got a txt-1 and i finished building it a few days ago. Nothing has broke yet. I did have a batteryconnecter melt on me tho. This truck is extremely durable. And your not going to be breaking anything unless you bolt in some serious power. This is the most durable RC i have evered owned. And they dont get much tuffer than this.

I'm sure it will be quite durable since they are not too fast from factory, but one thing you will want to replace is the zipties that hold the swaybars, rcca has the coloution to that, and you could probably find what to do in the quick pit tips section at rccaraction.com

I don't know if it can live through anything, but the txt is really durable. It's the most impressive Tamiya kit I've ever built as far as that goes, although it does still have a few weak spots. There are aftermarket parts for some of those, though. Stock, the truck should hold up very well, as it's not super fast but has decent torque. Common sense and not too many reverse/forward wheelies, and you should be ok. The driveshafts seem to go if too much of that is done, but I haven't had that problem cuz I resist the urge. :) It jumps great, takes crashes fine (so far, knock on wood), and it's a blast to drive. It'll crawl anything! Also one of the most fun kits I've ever built. :) Fun to drive, and fun to build--so many beautiful parts, and those tires! Possibilities are endless with this truck too, I think. Get one, you won't be dissappointed, especially after bashing your TAO4! Just make sure to get the bearings up front as installing them later is a real pain.

those things are like 600 bucks! I would go for maybe a clod buster or a Juggernaut 2. Those both have 4ws and twin motors. I don't have experence with the two but they are all from tamiya and even my blackfoot holds up to my abuse. :D

$369.99 from Tower if you'd like to build it and put it on the shelf to look at.

Add in a radio, batteries, charger(s), ESC (the MSC is a joke), good servos, servo savers (again, stock ones are worthless), some aluminum upgrades if you want to not break stuff every run (lower bumper supports), motor upgrades if you want it to be faster than 8 mph (if your a rock climber only, use the stock motors).

Now you're talking AT LEAST $600. :P

I could get out the list on all the money I've spent on my TXT-1 (its detailed, dates and everything) and blow your mind on how easy it is to spend money on this thing.

Well... if you want to go to that extent, I sank $1,200 into my Carpet Knife. 3 motors, 3 extra armatures, charger, radio, gaggles of tires, back-up car, mini servo, top of the line batteries (5 sets), various springs and assorted tuning items, pit box, etc. This hobby's expensive, what's your point?

Most people who will buy a TXT-1 already have a radio, charger, batts, etc. The only things they might have to get is an ESC and motors. Only spending $600 would be a refreshing change for me acually. The only reason why I don't have a TXT-1 yet is that it's not high on my to do list.

iv only spent about 80 bux on my TXT so far.
-Power Pulse ESC
-Dynomite 1500 batt
-Y-harness

I will need to get a new Y-Harness and a new radio soon. Soon after that a new charger and some batts and some new motors. The ones i got in it now are kinda old and worn and are very poor quality.

your 12 and u can aford a TXT-1!. Gees im 16 and have a full time job for the summer and my TXT-1 was even a little outa my price range. I would suggest either 2 cheap ESCs or something that can handle about 10-8 turn motors. Then just get some desent stock motors or something. That should get ya going.
