Holy crap! I just looked on the bay at fw-04 parts and they are insane! I was almost ready to build my NIB one. I've been collecting parts for it for 4 years now. I have nearly every hop-up except alloy F/R bulkheads and the carbon steering plate. I posted a pic on here a while back I'll find it and repost it.

Build it man!!! I go through the same dramas with my Landmax. Build it, drive it. I despise flea bayers flogging Landmax1 parts at an insane value. They are real pricks mate. I email them and tell them this. Real men trade parts and help out other rc people because they are enthusiests. Good luck with whatever you decide to do though. Your car is really neat. I love Kyosho.

I have not talk to any of you guys in a long time. Contender very nice work as always. 92gsr get it done weather your going to run it or not. I would not run it parts are very hard to find. I stress myself out looking for parts and then just gave up put it on the shelf after I found all the parts I needed. then move to 1/8 scale on-road. some of the sellers on Ebay are CRAZY!!!! with there price. I am going to put them out there. Andy's Collection, K-Garage and Landjump these sellers are CRAZY they want 2X the money for the parts.

Awesome car man! I too am tired of the castrol graphics (my ta02 is a castrol supra) so I decied to buy the kyosho decal pack for the Pure-Ten Sard supra. Slightly different body configuration but I can make them work. I was worried about the scale differences but I guess kyosho kept many of the same proportions as the headlight/taillight decals have the same dimensions. Find your favorite NSX graphics (mine is the Avex Dome NSX) and buy them. Try to keep it kyosho for fitment.

Hey Toad! Im still on earth. Haven't been focused on RC for a while... very little spare time. But Im gonna make some time before spring to catch up and tie up all my RC loose ends.

I Also have an F-ten that I have been working on, got a new F-ten body and some Farrari graphics for my next project to finish. Will post the "before" picture some time today.

I was worried about the scale differences

92gsr, don't worry too much about the scaling. I always use decals designed for 200mm or 190mm bodies on 280mm. As long as your close, your will be fine. I used Tamiya 1/10 decals on the white and blue Skyline on the previous page. I actually finished a 280mm Porsche recently with some 200mm decals, but I think it turned out right. Just too cold outside to take any pics of it right now :).

Toad, before the freezing weather came in, I was able to paint a few bodies. You and I both know that I continue to look for elusive superten bodies. Until then, I will work on my recent show body. But you would be disappointed with one thing. I used my Castrol Decals from the Supra. Not sure if I ever get a chance to paint the body, but even if I do, I wasn't planning on using the box art.

Yeah, you can find almost any decal sheet your looking for if you look hard enough. My problem is I can't get past some of the prices some of the decals demand.

Heres is my Kyoso Evolva with NcLaren Body. I made some of the decals which came out ok but are water-slide which I hate on the outsife of a car. Any Ideas on printing your own decals?

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me the value of a Brand New in box Superten GP 4WD. A friend has one which has been sat on a shelf gathering dust that I'd like to buy but neither of us know the value!

It's the Mclaren F1 GTR, and the motor is the pull start .15. I'm not sure how old it is but the wheels are black not orange so it's not the Gulf livery model. Oh and there's no radio, it's just the kit.

What would be a fair offer? Many thanks!

Filow... Toad is absolutely correct. I had the engine sitting in a box for the longest until I started to rebuild the car. Its got parts from different cars on it some newer Kyosho cars others non-Kyosho. The blue roll bar is actually part of a body frame for a vintage buggy.

I used a belt sander to clean up the front bumper which was pretty beat up. It has a Traxxas radio box on it now and a fuel tank from a Kyosho 1/8 scale buggy. Kind of a mutt car but I like it.

The GP series is on of the oldest Super Tens and is very rare to find new in box. It would probably sell between 400.00 and 600.00 given that it is a McLaren.

Since you two are friends he may let it go for 350.00, its worth a try.

Does anyone have the instruction manual for any of those Kyosho touring shocks? If my memory serves me right, it's a manual that has instruction to multiple types of shocks.

I actually found a roller that I have began to slowly work on. I am putting together a 4 stroke Superten, so if anyone has any spare parts, please let me know.

On the subject of the LD engines, I have a New In Package O.S. E-1000 Silencer, O.S. part number 21325000 if anyone is interested. This is the silencer / muffler that O.S. specifically made for the LD engines. I am guessing that they are pretty rare nowdays.

I hope this post is allowed here!

...quite a few years back I got into a bidding "war" on Yahoo Japan and won two R/C Cross 4-stroke flywheels from Japan. -I have NEVER seen one of these flywheels on anyone's projects here in the USA.

The R/C Cross flywheels I imported really are actually "rare" because they are made for the O.S. FS26S / FS30S engine crankshaft, not the FS26S-C engine's crankshaft.

-The flywheels are beautifully machined out of stainless steel, and have the needed "spacing" on the back of them (such as in the FS26S engine's prop drive spacer) so they have the correct spacing for the pilot shaft / clutch.

These would be PERFECT since regretfully the FS26S-C has been discontinued, and our only option now is the FS30S engine.

**As well, these flywheels would fit the FS40S airplane engine. The crankshaft on the FS30S and FS40S have the same diameter!!**

I am needing to fund my new FW03 Superten project so I have to let these go... If you are interested, shoot me an email at TE37scag@aol.com

I've actually done business with this guy and everything was fine- he even called me, many months later, and gave me a heads-up before listing those bodies. Too pricey for my present budget, but not obscenely overpriced either. One problematic sale when you don't sell much can really screw up your rating, which is what happened to this guy. (purchaser moved & did not update paypal w/ new addy, thing got returned)

BTW, I did find a few key bits needed for my -03 at Kyosho's site- think they have some wheels left, not sure which ones though.

I would agree, if it's a must have body, I would be willing to pay that price, but I have a GT-1 Porsche already, but if someone has the GT2 just laying around unpainted, i would be more than happy to give you 125.00 for it :)


Man, if you would have posted this a few days ago, I could have made your day. Someone on ebay was selling a pair of new RJ Ride Slicks for the super ten. there were the wide ones. I saw them, but I wasn't interested as I don't have any wide rims. They ended up selling for like 6.00 I believe.

Thanks, probably just as well....I'm finally inches away from completing my 1st 1/8 on-road car, a GP-20, or Landmax GT. Just fugured out that my old DX buggies are pretty much just 4 suspension arms and a body away from being onroaders as well.

The TR-15 have a wheelbase about 280mm, just like FW-03 and FW-04.
Also the Diffs are the same and some little parts ....

The SuperTen EP named SuperTen Sports EP and was sold by Kyosho before the FW-03 .... and it based on the Kyosho Outrage, I think

Thanks for the confirmation on TR-15. While I am a huge fan for the SuperTen's, that TR-15 is just not my taste hehe.

It's also cool to know that Sports EP was the... FW02?.. seems to me it only remotely resembles the shape of an FW03. I wonder how would SuperTen evolve had Kyosho continued the SuperTen line... ah, just a day dream.

I found my cataloges :D

The SuperTen Sports EP 2WD (1998-2000) based on the Outrage (1995-?) with a 280mm wheelbase. Also in the catalog there is a SuperTen Sports GP 2WD, witch based on the Sandmaster.

A standard 1:10 RC-Modell has a wheelbase of 260mm, a SuperTen has a wheelbase of 280mm. These 280mm are the reason for the name "SuperTen" or "Super 10" ;)

.... standard 1:10 RC-Modells named "PureTen" (Kyosho)

FW-03 and FW-04 are real SuperTen´s with a wheelbase of 280mm and named "SuperTen" (Kyosho)

FW-05 and FW-06 are not real SuperTen´s, because their wheelbase is only 260mm.

I hope my explanations seems not like the character of a head teacher :D

I was a bit surprised knowing Kyosho has given FW titles to PureTen... makes me wonder why hey came up with FW04 for SuperTen in the first place. However, I did notice the pre-FW05 PureTens were all belt-driven (corrections anyone?), whereas FW05 and 06 are shaft-driven, and both model have incorporated pivot ball suspensions and the encased design for radio and battery. Perhaps I should consider them as the shrunken SuperTens hahah

Hello to all. New to the forum. I have a NIB Superten that I got from Ebay and thought about converting it to a 4 stroke. I just scored on a new OS FS 26 SC engine at my local hobby shop which was old stock they were trying to move. Need help in terms of what parts do I need (engine mounts, clutch etc.) to make it work? Hi, all.....

I have a couple of 03's, and an 04- and lack tires for all of them. :(

Anyone know where I can get tires that won't cost me $100.00+ for a set? I know HPI has (or, at least had) ones that fit the front, but no wide ones for the rear.......tread pattern, at this point, is less important than actually getting ahold of a runnable set or two. I want to see how my superten does against my Inferno GT now that I finally have one of those up and running!

Hi guys im new to Kyosho Superten..
i just got a Brand New
SuperTen GP 4WD( FW-03 ) Porsche 911 GT1 Kit
this is my first-time ever to play on-road r/c
took me few days to put them all togethere..
and some parts eg: bolt were missing..
and lucky that i can still find them in local hobby shop..
and this kit made in "1996" 14 yrs old already....
but everything is brand new...so who cares~
and i have found out that parts for this car has been discontinued already..
i have brought a O.S. 12cv engine for it..
and i have also bolted it on the car already..
now just waiting for the O.S. header for Superten to come...
im using the original engine mount from the kit (the STUPID GT15S-CR is DEAD)..
just wondering does imy 12 cv work with stock the mount?

New to the forum and I've had a look through and there are some absolutely AMAZING examples of some great cars in here, you have all done a top job!

I bought an FW04 off eBay in desperate need of some TLC and have since fixed it up as best I can with the parts I had. Here's a couple pics before and after.

As well as the obvious visual restoration and overall clean I have rebuilt the shocks, tuned the suspension, replaced missing steering servo, rebuilt the engine and freshly broken in and it still has stacks of compression.

Car runs great now but I have a constant fear of crashing it and with lack of parts available in my region I'd feel a lot safer running a car I can easily get spares for. I'm thinking of putting it back up for sale on ebay in favour of something else.

Anyways I hope I've saved one car from being thrown out and it's a good feeling knowing that it can be used again :)

I really like the kit with the LD engine in it and the fan kit. These are on the rare side. I actually have three of the LD engines new in box, if anyone needs one.

The fastes engine made for these kits it the OS MAX .15RX. They were specifically made for these FW04 kits. They are considred BIG BLOCK engines and require big block motor mounts. They are increadably fast and look asume in the car. I have four or five of the engines new in box if interested. I have been a fan of the Super 10, FW03 and FW04 kits for 10 years, and have 20 or more in my collection, included a super rare FW03 four stroke kit (very limited production) new in box.

That FW03 look like it is in good shape. It has the $130 two speed in it (the good one). You picked up a nice kit. Not many FW03 four strokes were made. The four stroke was much more popular in the FW04 editions, so you have a real classic. Hold on to it! If you need a new belt for the fan, you should pick it up from me here on the ZONE in the for sell section.

The rear suspension is made by Kyosho and I believe its called ATCS ( Active Toe Control Suspension ) or something like that. Anyway it is only fits FW03 chassis cars and is a very cool upgrade to have.

You can use 03 wheels on an 04 by milling a set of hex drives 1 mm off each side. You may have to put a shim behind wheel. I have a set mounted and used the shims that come with GPM wheels.

Hate to rub this one in, but last week i scored a new old stock FS-40S-CX plus over 120$ in new TMAXX aluminum parts (just for clicking buy it now seller threw in all the TMAXX parts) for $160.

Killer find - also included a NOS O.S. muffler for the FS40-S-CX.

Kyosho superten I bought on the bay. I don't know yet if I will make it a 2stroke or a 4stroke yet. Most people aren't into 4strokes but I'm addicted. It might turn out to be a 2stroke I really haven't decided yet. I love kyosho superten's ,I can't get my mind off them. I'm always on the look out for more, can't ever have enough of them. This car came with a huge bag of hop up goodies some already installed. The car is brand new and never run, but that will change soon.

kyosho superten fw-03 2stroke. This car is nothing special as far as superten's go. This car need some work. I want to replace the shocks as they are toast, the header pipe needs replacing. Also the on off switch needs replacing. What I want is to replace the engine and pipe but it doesn't need this. I was interested in this car because it is a superten with a cooling fan that works and everything is there including original body posts. I really like not having to deal with body pins.

The engines might be a bit out of date but they are both new, so I will keep this car equipped with them. I hate having them sitting in their box's new and not being used. Kyosho superten fw-04 4stroke. Found this on the bay, it needs a tear down clean up. I'll open up the engine as well make sure it doesn't have a build up sludge.Car has kyosho up graded chassis. Kyosho alloy shocks, front and rear sway bars, carbon upgrades, alloy apgrades.

I m in the process of rebuilding my 03 and 04 with new parts, will post pics when I m done. btw I just noticed the front diff housing on my 12 yr old FW03 slides from left to right for about 1mm, anyone else has the same issue?

Just wanted to share with you guys my latest purchase.

O.S. FS26S-cII with nolan farmer head, I've been trying to get a hold of one of these cross flow heads for a while and it wasn't looking good and then I just happened accross this one for sale. I think It was a good deal for me as It really didn't look promising that I would find one.

It also came with the original head, flywheel clutch, a fan, an exhaust and an air cleaner with new filters. Ready to drop in and run. Oh yeah, it also has the larger header pipe.

I can't wait to run it. I'm a superten sl*t! I'll probably buy what you are selling if it's superten stuff, and there is a 99% chance, I won't try to haggle you down.

Hi everyone. I have a Superten FW-04 Loctite NSX. I bought one of the last ones that Tower Hobbies sold quite a few years ago. In the box it came with some hop up parts already, 2 speed tranny, alloy shocks, black aluminum chasis and upper deck, different fuel tank, and a engine. It's a really nice kit I enjoyed building it.

Anyways, I want the body to be painted the same as what it looks like on the box, and I attempted to do this myself. But my masking tape wasn't the greatest and I got a bunch of paint bleed when I tried painting the sections of the body. I'm looking for someone who could do the paint work for me or steer me in the direction of a good body painter. I'm usedto doing just single and dual color paint jobs on bodies that dont have quite as many sharp angles on them. Any help would be apprectiated, thanks!

The only advice I can give you is if you can't find someone to paint it for you, you might want to practice on from 200mm bodies first. These Super bodies are too rare to mess up. And you can get a 200mm body for around 15.00 these days.

DOT3/DOT4 brake fluid worked for me. If the paint is fresh it wipes it away easily; if the paint has dried for a while, it works best if left to soak.

Careful though - it'll take anything that it touches off.

I got my FW-04 finished. The body turned out alot nicer than expected. It's all painted and Stickered up just like it looks on the box. I'm just finishing the break-in of the GS-15r tonight. I originally did the 2 idling tanks to start the break in about 4 years ago, but didn't finish because I didn't have the radio installed yet, so I put some after run oil in the engine and the car sat until just recently. But I must say the little GS-15r is a nice little motor, I filled it up tonight and it fired right away after a couple pulls!

But I have a concerns about the 2 speed, I'm gonna have to pull it apart tonight, I think there is something wrong with it and it is bogging the motor somehow and not letting the rpms come up, no matter how I tune the needle the motor bogs alot after half throttle like it is running super rich. I even ran the needle all the way in and backed it out 2 turns and no real change in performance.

Its a TR-15 Rally. It came with a Kyosho Mercedes CLK. He had a Kyosho Lancer as well, but the price was a little out of my range. The nice thing is it takes 280mm bodies.

Well I couldn't find anything wrong with the 2 speed or anything binding in the drivetrain to bog the motor down so I reset the carb again 2 turns out. It was still really rich as it was only the 5th tank of fuel on this motor, but it still wasnt right so I leaned it out a bit more and it came alive enough to get enough rpm so the 2 speed would shift. My temps were in the 120-150* range when it was running crappy, after leaning it out a bit and it was running better it was around 185*. I'll run a few more tanks tomorrow and slowly get it to the 230-250*

What a nice little motor the GS15r is, its not very finicky, idles smooth even when running insanely rich, pretty happy with it so far!

Anyways heres some pics of it, not as nice as most of the other cars on here with the LD or fourstroke, but I'm pleased with how it turned out, the quality of the kit itself and how nice and detailed the body is!

Recently just purchased this kit NIB. I think its pretty rare and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I am not sure if it was a Japan release only? Any help would be appreciated.

It has the black chassis plates, gray plastic and 2 speed like the Loctite NSX above but the body is actually a little different. The body in the Mugen kit is a high downforce body and has some changes compared to the castrol and loctite NSX.

Anyways if anybody knows anything about this kit, I would love to hear!

It was pretty available here in the US. I had a couple myself. It's the second-generation car from Kyosho, and although it's wasn't available in the numbers of the original FW-03, it was still a pretty popular car. I wasn't a big fan of the brown and blue plastic, but the car did work well with the new design. This whole series was a little ahead of it's time, as the small-block engines weren't really that developed at the time. I could imagine that an OS .18 TZ engine would make one these things fly today. And brushless?! Forget about it - these would be BALLISTIC.

If I recall, this was one the last bodies released for the FW-04, and we did see it here, and it was pretty popular (relatively speaking) but the whole "super" market was contracting a little bit so it was bad timing more than lack of popularity. It's one of my favorite bodies for the car.

I have a new set of FORM 4 stroke clutch shoes (white Teflon w'holes)
They are for the smaller diameter version clutch bell.

FORM clutch shoes are BY FAR the best to run in a 4 stroke... They dont fade or melt!

I imported them from Japan years ago.

Thats pretty cool, you pretty much have the same car I do, but your car is an earlier version of the kit as the decal's and paint scheme are different and the box is different as well.

It was distributed also in Europe, a great kit.

Everyhting Steve is saying it so much true! The car was ahead of it's time, and like myself I didn't fully understand it's capabilities with the pillow ball suspension et all, being a newbie around 8-10 years ago.

One of the improvements to the FW04 kits earlier was that the kit shipped with 2-speed (along with with the nice black coated alum parts and black plastic parts) but it was a slightly downgraded version of the option tranny FZW56 (I still remember the part# by heart, no?) to keep the cost down, meaning it wasn't quite the same in durability with higher-end motors. For the kit motor GSR15 fine.

There are some marked differences between FW03 and FW04. The chassis, upper decks, center drive shafts, spur gears, rims, f/r suspension arms are not interchangeable between the two models.

A hallmark for FW04 is the reciever and battery compartment (in contrast, they are exposed in FW03), and a stabilizing/carry handle placed in line with the center shaft. The stock FW04 also came with a 100c, completely white fuel tank.

That is sweet!! I had the same body on mine, though dark red and no decals. Think i still have the decal sheet somewhere.

After further review it seems the original owner had painted the upper/lower chassis, hence the orange.

I've taken a new upper & lower from a new FW03 kit I have (new kit will be getting the optional hard main chassis & carbon upper)

Seems the "blue & white" spur 2 speed is specific to the FW04, as the mounting holes are different. The optional 2 speed from the GP10 will fit but are rare and pricey. I'll just end up installing the origanal 1 speed with a LD powerblock

Oh man..I just came in to ask about the 2 speed for FW03 :( Unfortunately when my son was driving it he hit a wall and knocked the engine loose pretty good. Stripped the 2 speed gears. You say the GP10 spurs will fit?

The FW04 two speed transmission housing's mounting holes are aligned differently than the FW03.

My FW03 instruction manual states part number 39301 is the optional 2 speed transmission. They seem extremely rare, as I 've only found an expired ebay auction here:
