You know, the ones you featured in the March issue of RC Nitro. I just picked up a pair from a local auto parts store, they are nice...
Haven't really had a chance to actually use them though. Anybody else have 'em?

Those are o.k., but I prefer Mechanix, the more expensive the better, usually.

I've used them for a few years now. They do eventually wear out.

topkart - I cant stand those gloves. I keep getting them free in the mail, and i never use them:D

Mechanix gloves seriously rock. They help prevent you from buring or cutting yourself, and are worth the $15-$20 investment. I have brushed against hot racecar headers, my nitro header, sharp metal, fiberglass, lexan, the list goes on, and they keep you from messing up your hands.

Great gloves... :)

I have both Mechanix and Ringers gloves, and both of them are very high quality. They last forever, and both lines offer gloves with heat resistant liners. You can generally get them for free at any motorsports racing trade show as they are competing manufacturers.

If you can't get them free, which i have never seen them free, you can usually get Mechanix gloves dirt cheap at any racetracks, and the trade shows.

They generally sell for around $18 a pair, for med-large. I have seem them as low as $8, but that was a blow-out sale. :)

Yeah Mechanix and Ringer gloves are awesome. We use them on our race car. I haven't got burned by headers or rotors since I've been using those gloves. They are well worth the investment.

Peace Out

I've got a set of Mechanix gloves. They are the ones that have the padding in the palm kinda like handall gloves. I love 'em!!!
They are so nice, esp. when your are corner marshalling an 1/8 scale buggy race! :D

I've been using Mechanix Gloves for years. I wrench on alot of Ford 302's in my Spare time (Local Mustang owners Club). I'd have to say I use at least one pair per engine rebuild. :)

As for using a pair while messing with Nitro cars, can't say that I have. However if I did nitro I would.

Ohh and some care tips. If you want your Mechanix gloves to last longer try to keep the petrolem based products off them. That's how I ruin all mine, I get alot of oil and Gasoline on them. One can imagine how Caster Oil and Nitro would 'eventually' deteriorate them.

That's kinda funny... "Mechanix Gloves" ... and they can't take the oil !? roflmao ..

that's like mass-producing a car with square tires....

:D

O well...... U dont really need gloves. I've been runnin nitro and never really got majorly burned or anything. I'm used to it from working on REAL CARS.

those arent the gloves i use. the ones i use are about half as thick as those cotton snow gloves (the one size fots all ones) and then they have a thin coating of latex. the same company that makes the gloves i use make kevlar gloves that are almost impossible to cut through, and still very thin, and they are good for high heat. they also make ones kind of like the latex gloves doctors use, only they arent latex, i cant remember what they are made from, and they have no poweder. these gloves are made for working with fuels
