Are the HPI belted tires any good compared to pits or sorex?

If you're referring to the pro belted slicks... i had a set of those... worked really great... but i cant say whether they are better or not than the sorex... all i can say is that they are decent:cool:

They're pretty good, but in my opinion they lack a little side bite compared to the Pits & Sorexes(some guys prefer them that way, though).....:)

I have the HPI B15-40 tires and they work great on carpet and clean tarmac. In my opinion, they are similar to Sorex 24R in terms of stickiness. They work well for the way I drive on tarmac ( I like to slide, not great, but it looks cool...) and they are cheaper than the Sorexes in my LHS.

Grizz,

What compound Pit Shimizu do you use? Are you running on carpet?

Yeah, in the winter I run on carpet, & in warmer months on asphalt mostly. As for Pits, on carpet I use 20R's to 28R's(I like a harder tire up front), just like the equivalent Sorexes. Outside, though, the firmer compounds seem better suited, I've used upwards of 32-36R's by the time the summer's in full swing......:)
