isnt there ANY ONE who can make these parts  i want a aluminum toplate.. :o
pudder
12-12-2005, 12:39 PM
You'd need a milling or cnc machine to make a decent top plate. My buddy has a B3 for sale WITH the top plate.
How bad do you want it maybe I'll sell you mine?
i would be running regular size and mashers 2000's

I would run 18/87 wit hthe p2k 2, about 16 with masher 2k's.
what about the ss5800? with mahsers and with regular thanks! ethan
pudder
12-14-2005, 11:45 AM
I meant around 15-16 with the m2k's and 5800ss, 17 should be fine with regular tires.
If you are needing to buy more pinions it would be wise to just buy a set of odd or even tooth sizes then you have a variety to work with. I am only estimating the gearing too.

Well here's my new toy; 1990 Civic DX. picked it up off a friend for 95$, working on painting it up right now. After paint I will be doing cold air intake+hood scoop, chop off the exhaust, eventually an obnoxiously large wing.

are you gonna drive it on the street?
pudder
12-19-2005, 11:29 PM
No I won't drive it on the street regularly since it isn't licenced. I will drive it mostly on backroads and fields since I live in rural area. I would have to pay the friend I got it from to licence it since it is not saftied. I might put it on the road but I doubt it since I just chopped off the exhaust and it just has headers now. :D I also got the black and yellow finished on the paint. I will get a # on there ASAP. The paint actually turned out pretty good for spray cans.
I plan on taking it for a rip tomorrow!

I just put some MIP cvds on my T3. It was originally a sport version that had dogbones. These cvds seem as though they are too long. They bind when the suspension id fully compressed. Is there a fix for this. I've tried using the shims in different positions but they still bind.
thanx :)
microrcdude
12-20-2005, 10:14 PM
are you running bushings or bearings?
scoob
12-20-2005, 11:50 PM
here it is (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAW91&P=7)
I'm runniing bearings.
The thing is, the binding is happening when the wheels are raised so that the suspension is compressed. It's like the bones are too long.

so,whats left of it??
Rtsbasic
01-14-2006, 07:47 PM
It still has a T3 chassis, and tranny. Got a lexan top plate, the steering has been hybrid with an RC10GT's steering support so its freer/doesn't rely on the top plate to clamp it down. The front end is a mix of Losi/Duratrax/Jato parts that somehow all work together. I might turn it back to proper T3, I used it to experiment with parts for the front while I was making the chassis for my T2 based basher, and thats finished and running now.

Time to get this thread going again.
I'd recommend Road Rage tyres - they hook up nicely for me onroad and slightly dusty surfaces, with RPM wheels and a T4 body.
I've been working on a few mods for my B3/T3..attached are some pics of the parts on my B3, but I'm modifying my T3 in the same way. Essentially the upper plate is replaced with a flat brace made of lexan, using some GT parts to support the steering. Once this is done, you can modify the chassis slightly to gain more steering, and obviously its a near indestructable setup. I've also re-done the front suspension for smoother surfaces with a more laydown, progressive travel. There's a few other mods there as well, but i'll leave you to spot them :) Been running the B3 with this steering/brace setup for 3 months now, with a broken chassis at that (hence the wheelnut spacer), and had no problems. With the new suspension and being wider it feels a lot more stable at high speeds, and is quicker to change direction without losing stability.
Rtsbasic
07-13-2006, 07:28 PM
Pic 2. Please pardon the mods being on my B3, I'm in the process of converting my T3 with the same mods, although the shock tower is different for the longer shocks and different driving style of a truck.

Hey guys, just popping in to see if anyone knows where to find a complete differential assembly for the T3 (towerhobbies has it listed, which I have had on backorder since 6/21, but it's already July 30th, and the part is listed to come in "late july".... ). If tower doesn't ship within the next 3 days, I may have to cancel my back order and look elsewhere.
Thanks guys.
