i always see you guys knocking carbide bits is it that big of a difference? does it matter at local level??

Your talking about cutting comms right? They both do the job effectively but after the first 100 or sooner cuts on a carbide bit you have to replace it. Some people have over 1000 cuts with it and still dont need to sharpen it. You dont throw away diamond bits, you sharpen them and then you reuse them for basically ever.

Ok, i make cutting tools for a living i have been doing this for a living for 15 years, the material you are cutting is very soft , you do not need anything better then high speed steel, and what makes that nice is you can sharpen it your self, the carbide tools can be sharpened time and again but you need diamond grinding wheels to do this properly, so most people just buy a new one. diamond can not be sharpened by the user but it does have the advantage of lasting a very long time, but they are expensive.
I use high speed steel cause there is no other reason then when it gets dull it just takes a few seconds on a grinder to sharpen it,Heck you sharpen it with a dremel tool, and its cheap, you can get high speed at industrial supply houses.
