I just got a Reedy Rage and I was wondering why a 27 turn goes faster than a 20 turn Traxxas Stinger?
Thanks.

Not normally, but the traxxas stinger isn't the motor they claim it to be and is ALOT slower than a 20 turn should be. Your rage...when geared right...will be way faster!!!!!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif

The word "turn" refers to how many times wire is wrapped around the armature. "Wind" refers to how many wires are wrapped around the armature. The lower the turn the faster is just the rule of thumb and not always true. It depends on the motor, manufacturer, timing, bearings, gearing, etc. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

It is all about the quality of building, people domt use the stnger as a race motor, whereas, in stock motors, the manufacturers put a lot more technolgy into them, makin em alot faster and better.
