short run time less then 2 min

I have an old MRC Thunder King I bought on E-BAY,everything works fine;but the battery goes dead after about 2 minutes.It has 2- Le-mans 360pt motors,super rooster esc,and a piranha 1900 8.4v battery.Can anyone help me????

your battery is a nicad, which can develop "memory" problems. This happens when the battery is not fully discharged and recharged. The remaining power will create crystals inside the cells, and reduce the capacity. If your charger has a discharge or cycle function, use that to discharge the battery fully before charging it. If it doesnt, put the battery in the car and drive until the battery is dead. Then charge it fully, and repeat. Do this about 3-5 times and the battery should be back to normal. :cool:

Yea, id suggest just buy a nice high power Nimh.

They have no memory, last way longer and most of the time, have higher MAH Ratings.

1900 Piranha are list with Tower are NiCd. You bought it through Ebay, so you dont know how it was charged or maintained. Upgrading to a NiMh battery is your best bet. 3300-3600Nimh 6 cell, or 7 Humpback cell are available, rangeing from $17.50-28.50(my supplier). If interested PM.
You can even go 4.4NiMh by MaxAmps, even lipos. What ever you decide have fun!!
