I went and got a new RPM gear cover for my XXXT after the last RPM gear cover got messed up. Don't ask how. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Anyway the last one fit just fine, but this one is rubbing up against the spur. I know i need to take the extra plastic off but how do i go about to do it, i have no dremel..or any drill to at that. All i have is an hobby knife and some sandpaper, im getting really tired of sanding and scraping on plastic. Could anyone help me out on something to get the job done faster!?!

Someone posted something like this and i said i had no problem......looks like i spoke to soon!

Any help you give me i thank you.

Duh, rvrrun! Triple post? LOL! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

BadRacer, I know man, it's a huge pain. I don't have a dremel either, so I decided to go buy an 84 tooth spur. It fits, no problem. If you do switch spur gears, you better figure out what pinions to use for the equivalent ratio that you use now. FYI, a 19 tooth pinion used with an 84 tooth spur is roughly equivalent to using a 20 tooth pinion with an 88 tooth spur. Just use this equation to find out the right gearing.

Equivalent Pinion Size = Current Pinion size * New Spur size/Current Spur size

This will give you a number with decimals; just round it to the nearest whole number and you get your equivalent pinion you should use with your new spur.

Thanx Nairb. RPM should really look into this cuz its been happening alot with other ppl and it makes them mad too (clean version). These gear covers i think are able to hold a 90 tooth spur without problems...big LIE! Thanx for the help.
