Hi, returning to this hobby after a long hiatus. Bought a Losi XXX buggy cuz I want to drive it on dirt tracks and a bit of parking lot stuff-seemed like the best all-around car for me. Id like to know what are the most important hop ups to get on a stock XXX presently available. Id like to get into racing it too, at the dirt track not too far away http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

My son and i both have xxxt,we race both once a week since they came out, so we treat them pretty hard, the parts that really need to be upgraded are the turnbuckels, replace with titanium which you should do on any offroad car or truck.
One item that we have found that is easy to break is the rear pivot block which is the same part as the buggy, we have broken 5 between us both, so it was best for us to replace those with alumminum parts.
I mention those parts just for reliable performace, there is alot of other stuff out there to increase performance and reliability, but i feel these to items are most important.

I found that you need to get Ti Tie rods, and Ti ball studs for the rear shock tower, they will snap off inside if you don't, and same with the rear hub carriers, i dunno bout that pivot block, i have broken one, in the last 6 months i have had mine, another thing to get is alot of shock oil, Team Losi sells them in a pack, and get the springs, i STRONGLY suggest gettin the orange springs for the front. also, put the ball stud in the caster block to the out side hole, much better steering, and as you break things, just up grade to the graphite, BTW, rustler, Team Trinity makes the best stuff for it.

Forgot, GET A BUCH OF TIRES, when you go to the track, bring extra cash, so you can buy new wheels and tires, that are set up for the track, people will tell you what the 'hot set up' is, and decide now what color of wheels you want, don't go from yellow, to white, and back and forth, i chose yellow, wish i chose white now http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif oh well
