View Full Version : Mini - Z battery questions

Should I buy lots of alkaline AAA's or should I buy some NiMH AAA's and a charger for them that I found at www.batteryzone.com (http://www.batteryzone.com) ? I saw that the run times are 2 hours, so I thought that if I did get NiMH's I would have no way of discharging them, or at least I dont know how I would. If I did get NiMH's, is it bad to let it sit with half a charge for a day?? Last question - are the alkalines worth all the money or should I invest in rechargeable NiMH's?????

You aren't supposed to discharge NiMH batteries all the way. If they are going to sit, even for a day, you are supposed to leave them about 1/2 charged. And if they are discharged you should charge them to about 1/2 before you let them sit.

I have some NiMH AA's, I don't think you would get 2 hours run time with them, even in a Mini-Z.

Get nicads, I get 20+ minutes of run time with 250 milleamps and they are faster than alkilines.

I cant buy nicads because I dont know where to get a nicad charger or discharger. Besides, thanks Top End for the info,. I guess I'll get NiMH's since they wont be ruined to let them sit on 1/2 charge.

I was going to get some RS nimh aaa's but they where sold out so i bought some diehard nimh's. I saw that kyosho makes rechageable nimh aaa's and a charger for the mini z. It says japan only though. How can i get these?

go to www.batteryzone.com (http://www.batteryzone.com) and they sell alot of the NiMH AAA's and a charger for 'em.

Walter, i think you WISH ni-cds were faster than alkalines cus the average voltage of ni-cds is 1.2 volts per cell, although alkalines have an average voltage of 1.5 volts per cell. Therefore 4 ni-cds would produce 4.8 volts total, and alkalines would produce 6 volts. so how is 4.8 more than 6 http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/confused.gif ????? Whatever it is that you're smokin' it would proably be best to stop. Mr. MAXX
