I have a 17t single in my stampede and want to upgrade.I know lower turns are more power but is a single, double, triple,or quad the best for a truck? Also can you explain why so I understand the differences between the winds.I use a 15t pinion now and plan to drop to a 12t pinion with this upgrade.Speed is not a great concern but a lot of power is.Thanks for any opinions and help.

Well, the differences between singles, doubles, triples, etc. are really pretty subtle, but a single will typically have a bit more torque, & spool up quickly, while more strands(especially when you get to quads, quints, etc.) help smooth out the power band & improve efficiency some, but the car may feel a bit less "punchy". For a truck(& it's big heavy wheels & tires), you'd be best off with a double or single, you need acceleration more than top end(the larger diameter tires help you get good top speeds, but have more rolling resistance than smaller diameter tires, like on a buggy)..... :)
