I've been into R/C for 2 1/2 years now and have always been the nitro favored hobbiest but i want to start getting into the electric form factor of the hobbie and race electric touring car at my local tracks. So i have a budget of 400$ but i'm here to ask how can i get all i need for 400$ maybe even less so can you guys help me out? Also i would appreciate it if you guys could give me an idea of what kind of maintenance would be needed to maintain my touring car. Thx guys

The best forum for On Road Electric/touring cars is RC Tech. You'll get the information your looking for there.

I think you would be really happy with one of these:

The speed of nitro plus the ease of maintenance of a brushless motor... which is basically zero maintenance :)
No headaches, just pure fun.
The list price is over 400, but I'm sure you can get it for way less from a mail order store.
Its an RTR but I have heard great comments about it.
If you prefer a kit version, there are plenty.. The AE touring cars are also quite popular. I suggest you pay a visit to the track you want to run in and talk to the guys, I'm sure you'll get some valuable advise.
good luck

I said a couple of times and stick to it that a TC4 is a very nice car to start with, well built, easy to maintain (much easier than belt driven cars), very good parts support and since you come from a Nitro back ground you will be used to shaft driven stuff...
You want some good quality cells if you plan on racing, if you are only club racing, MAXAMPS 4.4k cells are very good for the price.
You also want a good servo (a good responsive servo is vital for touring car)
you will also need a good radio / receiver and esc /motor combo.
the last few all depend on what your doing, i.e racing, bashing etc etc.

A tt-01 is dirt cheap but you need to buy a good motor for it as the stock one is ....
