AGREED^^^
Can we please get the ball rolling. Time seems to be going by very quickly these days and at the rate we're moving the season will come and go before we know it. Is there a chance it can be at the same place and time? I thought that spot with the pit benches was perfect.

I have all the contact info for who I need to talk to at the fairgrounds, once I get an idea on dates I will set it up.
I want to get everyone involved on setting up some dates, so nobody that wants to come gets left out, but majority rules!!
Also, what do most of you want to do for someplace to stay? hotel, campground? I was thinking it would be nice to get a block of sites reserved at a campground and all stay at the same place.
do we want to do all weekend at the fairgrounds, or do a day there and then caravan up to silver lake and play in the dunes?

The sooner the better. Playing at Silver Lake is a blast. If you go up there between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you have to have vouchers to get into the dunes on the week-ends.

What does every one think about late April early May? It should be warm enough.
One problem we ran into last year was that June 5th was too early for people who are still in school. So April or May would be even earlier.

MMMMM, $1200, sounds like more than enough for a Baja.:D
When we were up there with our Bajas, they fly right up that hill. With paddle tires ofcourse. I'm going to look for the videos from there.

You're right, I forgot. I just want to get together with a bunch of people and bash.
I have two new engines for my Baja(well, I have been using one all summer) and a new tranny for my MGT. I may even bring my daughter's brushless E-Pede too.

June is too early? I don't recall hearing that. Mid or late May works for every college student that I know. June should be gold. Early June could be a little early for a few high school students, but it's not like high school students are going to have the resources to come to this anyways. I'm sure a few locals will, but no high school student is going to be flying out from Utah or something to make this happen so let's worry more about college students and professionals.

You are probably right, but I'm just saying we got a lot of people complaining last year that it was too early due to school.
Rich and Nick, my advice to you guys would be to not take a vote on the date. Just find a date and say "this is when it is, hope you can make it". Otherwise, you will get a lot of complaining. I speaketh from experience on that one.

Well ya...last year it was the first weekend in May. Mid or late May, or early June should be gold for any college student not taking summer classes.
And ya...you might ask for suggestions on the date...but a vote won't really work. More importantly, we need to get a venue and figure out when we can actually get that. The last thing we want to do is to pick a date, have people work it into their schedule and book things and then find out that the facility we want isn't available on that date and we're moving it up or back a week or two. No bueno. Whoever is finding the facility to host this needs to find it and pick a weekend that it's available in the date range we've all kind of agreed to, and just book it.

t3racerx, do you think you can get the fairgrounds? I think that place would be better than the park we were at last year. As long as the mx track is open to us. I think they have electricity also. Not to mention shade, and a pretty good open area.

01-06-2008, 10:25 AM
shouldnt have a problem getting it, I already talked to one of the guys and he didnt think there would be a problem.
the MX track is pretty fun to play around on, took the 1/8 scales out there a few times last summer.

An MX track would rock!
As long as we didn't have to share it with the MX'rs that weekend. The two groups would probably end up ticking each other off.
