i just got done watching oceans 11 and i remember when that RC races that full size bronco(dont remember what it was) it smokes the tires at the start, would this be possible to do in real life?

Sure. You need A) monster power, B) something RWD (well.....it's easiest that way), C) a servo controlled/hydraulic controlled front braking system, and D) some slick/slippery tires.

Someone posted a video a long while back of a TC3 that was up against a wall, running some SERIOUS brushless power. He smoked all 4 tires and they basically exploded after a minute or less.

yeah i figured you would have to have some insaine power, but wouldnt it be easy to spin them on a nitro than an electric?

Not necessarily. Nitros' powerband is totally different than that of an electric. Brushless motors (for example) can make power and torque wherever they need to (up to a limit, which is, in more cases than not, the battery's potential to supply current without the voltage dropping dangerously low). Electric motors have instant torque (or torque wherever it needs to be generated), whereas a nitro needs to be at whatever RPM to generate peak torque, and then at an even higher RPM to generate peak horsepower. Electric motors are a little different in that the motor will draw however many amps it needs to (or whatever it's limited to by the battery) at whatever voltage (and whether or not that voltage drops too severly under load) to produce the power and torque it needs to get the job done.

It's all in how stuff is set up, what batteries you're using, the kind of motor you're using, etc. Efficiency plays a big part, and it's really not as simple as I described. There's other factors, but that's the basic gist; you follow?

yeah i follow, but i think it would be kickanus to have an RC capible of burning the rubbers

I've tried. I can lay rubber, but no smoke :(

what you need is the right mixture of olive oil and bleach for the sweet smoke show ...... Then new rubber all the way around after your done ..... :D

My buddy has a Mamba Max (5700) powered TC3 with a 3s LiMn pack. He threw the driveshaft out of it and decided to do a burnout with RWD only, and it will SMOKE the tires. It was cool as heck. No additives or anything. Just rubber on cement.

I've laid rubber with my E-Maxx and got a little smoke.....
