these tires are obviously a rip off of the proline badlands. has anyone tried them? the real badlands are great for loose terrain. I wonder of the quality of these tires and wheels????

very strong, i remember i slid into a curb, hit on the side made a nice loud pop noise :D But no wheel or tire damage, spoke or dish they are VERY good durable wheel tire combo. I remmber i had one wheel let go of the glue in one spot, nothing a dab of CA couldn't fix. I prefer dish though, they look better.

what about his monster truck tires? how are they? is it a soft or hard tire compound? and anyone know what width the MT tires are? are they stock t-maxx or like 40 series?

Wow. I'm all for these tires. Nice find. Someone's gotta put those big name tire manufacturers back in line so us non-sponsored racers can compete without breaking the bank.
I just ordered a set of Crimefighters for $22.98. We'll see how they work out.

same said for buggy wheels.
Up for auction are these Pre-Mounted Big Blocks Tires for super muddy or dirty conditions. The tires are a medium compound rubber so that you can get plenty of practice runs without wearing them out. The rims (17mm hex hub, same as almost all modern buggies) are molded from a special Nylon that resists warping, yet doesn't crack either (these fit almost all 1/8 buggies available today). The inserts are racing-quality medium density foam. The tires are glued with the highest quality CA by a professional. Put them all together and you have a super deal! A full set of 4 tires for your 1/8 buggy at a very low price. Please note that the color in the photos are a little off, and are actually brighter and more solid than they appear.

yes but how does it compare to other compounds, like is their medium equal to let say pro-line's medium?
and these tires arent belted right? they will balloon like Krazy
ericem
05-08-2007, 03:41 PM
no they do not balloon like crazy, i remember, overall i found the compound well, its good, not hard its medium what can i say?

They work great, both the badlands and crimefighters, had them both and neither has any real flaws.

Gotta remember some of this stuff on Ebay may not be knockoffs. RC manufacturers for the most parts are small and probably purchases slots of time from the factories. Sometimes you actually get the same product.

they sure do look exactly the same to me, but if they were from the same mold, wouldn't they have the proline lettering on them?

Thats what I'm talking about. :)
As long as they are functional, as in, the tires don't come flying off the rims, or the rims don't strip, or other things we typically take for granted don't bite us, etc, then I'm all for it. I'll be finding out for myself soon enough. :)

Race Report:
I got my tires on Friday, just in time for a race on Saturday. They are very stiff tires, and the foam inside seems pretty soft. Not exactly your preferred racing tires. But I do have to say that I did my best qualifier on Saturday using these tires, qualifying 4th out of around 10 racers in 8th scale buggy. I switched to Panther Kumodo 2s for the 2nd qualifier and the main, and while the K2s definitely drove better than these knockoffs, I still sucked both times due to crashing. I sucked so bad I didn't take the time to look at my lap times to see how my good lap times compared.
In the one 5 min qualifier that I did run these knockoffs, I encountered no unexpected surprises. Tires did not fall off rims, rims fit snug to the hex, nothing broke. So in my book, I say these are good tires to try out.
