View Full Version : 40 amps = howmany turns?

Hey ive bought a 40 amp speed controller for anice price, im just wondering wat sort of motor will run on this, like how many turns. it would be highly aprreiciated if u told me wat turns ur motors are and how many amps they use. thanks

It can vary from motor to motor, and turn to turn (load on the motor plays a big part, as do the type of current the batteries can supply). What ESC did you buy in the first place? It may be easier to just start there.

It also makes a huge difference if you got an airplane ESC or a car ESC.
Car ESCs are designed for a really high momentary load and not a super high continuous current.
Airplane ESCs are designed for higher continuous loads but not as high momentary.

Keep in mind also, airplane ESCs generally have a continuous flow of air over them, whereas a car ESC may not (body on, stop and go runs, etc.). This means more active cooling than a car, and thus, the manufacturer can rate the ESC a bit higher than if it were to be something like a car ESC.

ok well i ordered it almost a month ago now, the place had none in stock, should be here soon though so wen it comes ill post more details.

Embarisingly enogh i cant find it on the net cause i cant remember what it was lol....hope it comes.

I found it on the net again, it came and it worked, the dimesnsions on the site are wrong it means mms, its so ****ing small, less than an inch long for u americans. any way the site is
