Would you guys recomend and Monsters of Touring 17 double and a 2000mAh battery for some decent bashing with my Stampede?

I'd say that was OK.
I'm not sure if those MOT are rebuildable or sealed endbells. If they are sealed I'd say go for the Speedgems 2 Sapphire 17 Single.

I have a Monsters 17T double in both my Protrax Rustler and in my Traxxas Bandit. Both cars are really fast and have plenty of torque. I also have a Sapphire 17T single in a seriously hopped up Traxxas Street Sport. This car is so fast it's scary. I took advantage of the HPI tires and wheel sale and put the tires on the car. This thing now sticks to the road like glue. The racing wing on the HPI Saleen Mustang body makes it look and handle great. The Street Sport is the closest thing to a pan car that Traxxas makes and the direct drive and standard ball diff really makes this car fly. With the hot motor it's awesome. I highly recommend both the Monsters and the Sapphire. I think the Monsters has bushings instead of bearings and are not rebuildable. Not a bad motor for under $20.00 though. I use 1700 mAh batteries and get pretty decent run times, around 5 or 6 minutes with and ESC. A 2000 would probably get more.

I had a 15t monstors of touring in my 4-tec with the stock gearing and it melted on me. I still think that that was a great motor for the money, just make sure you "keep it cool"!

Go with the 17 double saphire(speed gems2) they have adjustable timing and ball bearings, trust me, they are better, plus you dont have tot break them in http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
I would deffenatly recomend it.
I have a 17 turn monster of touring in my Stampede and it is great. First It gives you plenty of speed and torque. And second it is afortable at only $15.99 on tower hobbies. You can't beat that.
