Wiring for brakes

I need to know how to set up a Drag car with brakes. Its electric and does not have an ESC. Also what is a safe max voltage to run through a motor? does it depend on the winds? Can single take more volts then double? Just getting started in this Drag raceing and just need a to know a few things. All the Dragers here hold the info lke its a Government secret.
