Hey guys, I think I've had enough practice and ready to race. I'm just confused about something.
I've heard off needing a personal transponder but I don't know what that is. A little help plz.

Usually the track you race at provides them.

I don't know of any tracks that make the racers purchase their own, as they are around $100 each. Call the track to find out.

It is a small electronic device you put in your car which gives a signal to a detector each time you pass it. The detector is connected to computer so they can count laps and times.

Simply put, it is a device you place on the vehicle that is used for computing your laps. With track transponders, most racers will drill a hole in the body and use a body clip to hold it on. For PTs, most are taped or screwed on to a spot on the chassis.

Go down to your local track and ask them how they track each vehicle and they will show you the little cube called a transponder, it has a specific signal that the Race track timing equipment picks up each time the transponder goes by. Some racers purchase their own for ease but most tracks have enough for several heats so the trucks that are running are getting timed and the ones that are next can be set up without delay. Remember when you start racing just try and finish the first few races dont go all out, get used to the track and racers styles and pit techniques and then just practice. I have tried to teach the newer racer to just chase someone around the track not passs them for practice. Also turn the transponder in right after your heat so the next racer has it available ti him/her. Hope this helps

Ya they usually provide you with one if you haven't got a personal. They are held on with a body clip to your body or a specified place on the car or truck.

Once you get the racing bug, it's hard to get rid of it.

After my win at the track, I'm all hyped for the next 1/10 stadium truck race there. I've practiced more, I know how the guys race and what they run, and I've adjusted my driving style to match. It's loads of fun; just take it easy and learn. I did all kinds of learning while winning!!! :D

A lot of tracks are getting rid of "house TP's" (I'm getting rid of mine), and using only PT's.

Here is what my house TP's look like, and a few PT's
