A associated rc10 tc3 racer kit Sounds nice for you. Its should have great performance if its anythiing like the team/factory team kits. It has a rugged design and parts are easy to find. At 150$ its also a good deal.

get a RC10TC3 racer or team. i got one, its great! you get LONGER run times because of the shaft design, i have a 1800 pack in my old buggy, hardly made a 5 minute race, got my tc3, i made the entire race and had like a minute to spare
TC3 ALL THE WAY!

Tamiya TL01's and Tamiya Mini's are cheap, a lot of people have them, and seem to think they are great.
