No, if anything, they'll accelerate wear on the comm, not reduce it. Their only purpose is to increase power, & everything else is secondary....

I don't really care what do anybody talking about. The only thing I had experience was using the comm drop would accerlerate the comm wear prematurely. I used comm drop in my P2K motor and I didn't feel any improved performance in my speed, but worn out prematurely. Now I will never use comm drop again. I still have almost full bottle of comm drop in my tool box.

As I said, all they're meant for is to improve power, but they're just as likely to attract dirt, which is how the comm can wear down faster. However, I do like using them when breakiing in brushes, it does help to speed it up some & it's easy to spray the motor out before you run it on track.... :)

Hmmm interesting topic - I just bought some Black Death on the weekend and haven't had a chance to use them yet. On the bottle it says that they help to lube the comm, which to me would suggest that it helps to reduce friction and therefore reduce wear. But of course more conductivity would suggest more current flow therefore more comm damage.
The bottle also says to shake well before use, and it looks like the black stuff is some sort of carbon/graphite compound - and that would aid in increasing conductivity and lubrication.
So the answer is... I dunno. Once I've tried them out I'll let you know.
