I need a speed control that will handle at least 20 cells, and has a brake. If you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thanks

Astro Flight makes one that can handle 24 cells, but its forward and reverse. I think Tekin makes an ESC that will handle that ttype of load too.

Im working on making a electric dragster. I have been planning it out for a while, and it will be very interesting by the time that I finish it. And thanks rustler, I will check their web site.

Go to the drag forum, there is some kind of 'switch' for dragsters. Apparently what it does it dump all 24 cells at once and that is how those guys get those amazing speeds. Some one in there should be able to tell you what it is.

What kind of motor can handle 20+ cells?

Ok i'll check the drag forum, thanks. I know that almost any lightspeed motors will handle 20 cells with ease, and any Trinity Speed Gems will handle 12 or more easily. Thanks again!

Holy god you better watch yourself. 20 cells its 24 volts! 10 volts zaps me, 24 volts must be painfull!

I used to mess with 24 volts every day. Most business phone systems run on this voltage (and send 24 volts to the phone sets). I have never been shocked by 24 volts.
Now, RING voltage (on older or home style analog sets) is a completely different story. 90 volts at 20 hertz will get you attention pretty quick !

Sorry, but I am anxiously awaiting an answer as well. I do not want no stinking on/off switch :p ... I want/need more control than that, thank you ! Besides, how do you get brakes ?

Yeah it will be a while, but I will definately get vids to show everyone! Jeep are you asking how you get brakes with the micro switch? If so I have no idea!

On the topic of high voltage, my brother works for Star Delta Electric Motors. So basically he makes switch boards for oil pipelines. Some of those things have 600v going through them! One of his friends was coiling up the 600v line around his arm,(like how you coil a normal extension cord) and some how he forgot to unplug it from their test transformer, and he got a shock of a life time!! My brother said he just started walking sideways and fell over after like 2 steps. He is ok now, and still works there to the best of my knowledge.

We want to see videos of it running when you are done with it.
