Hey all

your help would be great. just in the process of changing my first set of tyres on my nitro buggy. should there be foam within the tyre? someone else took them off mine and mentioned there seemed to be foam in there but had cut into it whilst getting the tyre off.

If there does have to be foam can it be any type?

Cheers [:D]

I was told foam keeps the tires from basicly "bottoming out", I added foam to my XXXNT and noticed a big difference.

There doesn't HAVE to be foam, you can more than likely buy it at your LHS.

foam is necessary for supporting the tire, and they greatly improve traction. Tires will normally come with foam in them, and if you're just bashing they will work. Racers will play around with the foam hardness, but if you're buying some new tires just use the foam that comes with them.

I would try and get the same foam as the make of tyre.
That way you will know it will be a perfect fit.

I say foams are a must. Without them your wheels will be rubbish, when you jump your vehicle will bang down denting the rims and damaging the tyres.
It's like running on a flat tyre without foams it will slow you down and ruin the handeling.

You can fit any 1/8th scale buggy wheel foams into any 1/8th scale buggy tyre.

Also the lack of foams will triple the wear on your tires, and foams give a much superior performance

you will definitely notice a big difference by adding foams
