I was watching, and recorded, a Monster Jam 8 monster truck show that was on CBS this morning, and at the break about 15 minutes into the show, there was a Traxxas commercial!!! Pretty cool that on national TV, our sport gets press like that. Even if it is just an ad! It showed the TMaxx, Revo, and the Jato. There were a couple of other shots of RC monster trucks sitting on the tires of some of the full size trucks during the interviews with the drivers. NICE JOB TRAXXAS!! It was cool to see that!! Also shown was an ad for the ATV racer that Traxxas is working with. I think his name is Doug Gust and he is sponsored by Suzuki. Again, nice job putting your name and our sport out into the national spotlight!! Smart business move!!

At least Traxxas seems to be trying to bring the hobby into the limelight. That's more than I can say about any of the other ones. ;)

the only thing im scared about is that this hobby gets too commercial and you start getting Chinese manufactures making quality machines for like 1/5 of a price and you get every little annoying kid having one and all the vehicles become RTR and the whole line up is ruiend.-..
for some reason i kinda like the exclusivity of this Hobby, i want the good, wise, interested hobbists... not some stupid kid that doesnt know what to do.
im scared it will ruin the scene, well start getting like gundam shaped RC cars,
and then Health and Safety will kick in and Nitro is like controlled by organizations or something or even deemed dangerous... anyone get what im saying??
the ad is not a bad idea at all, but i just hope RC doesnt become too commercial..
i like it when people come and say.. "uuuhhh what that... its amzing"
and it is.. but if everyone has one then it just ruins the atmosphere..
its like racing, pick F1... there amazing incredible machines, and thousands of people pay hundrends to see them, and there a great vibe at the race tracks and stuff,, but if everyone has one, what the point?

the more mainstream the hobby gets the lower prices will be. thats something to look forward too.

Was not paying close attention, but during a talk with one driver, you could plainly see HPI Racing on his truck. Obviously not at TRX's level, sponsoring a race rig, but involved none the less.

My wife noticed that HPI sponsorship on the truck as well... I didn't see it and thought she was mistaken... I guess she was right.. although I'll never tell her that..The traxxas commercial was pretty cool...
