Macro shots of your rides

I'd love to see some macro shots of your rides. Macro's are defined as 4 inches or less from the subject being shot. Extra points given for creative focus points of the shot and nice angles.

I am going to shoot a few, but here's one of them to kick it off.......

I sell a lot of car audio gear and try to give any potiental buyer the best visual possible short of them holding it in their hands. any scratches, dings, kicks that take away fromteh overall value should be both noted and have a pic to go along, IMO.

btw: Anyone can take a close up photo of their ride and post it up... If you've got a bit of time try going from different angles, distances and lighting cond (bright vsdark, fluro vs incandessant). Some of the shots I took looked like utter crap untill I played around with the lighting or got a bit closer... Loved what I've seen so far but...

You try using the flash?
I also have one of those cheap portable florescent desk lights that I use sometimes over the object to get the light needed in that area.

That sucks. Only advice I can give would be to try the desk light so you can move it around and keep it out of your pictures.

Everywhere I have contacted about the header says they are out of stock. Vantage, impackt, amongst a few others. So it just sits in the bottom of the box waiting for someone to get one in.

Springs, this is what I need for the pipe. This was one of the better pipes I have had on the 3.3 motor, even though it is for a slightly bigger block than the .20 3.3 TRX. Gave outstanding top end nd the bottom end was just a hair less than the polished resonator pipe from traxxas.

I just need to get more fimilar with all of the options on this one, which BTW is a Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ8. This pic is resized by at least half to fit on most screens and is still under a MB in size.
3.78mb 3072X2304 pixels FL 6MM F/3.2 ISO-200 72 DPI
I like it so far, haven't had it much more than a month so it's all still pretty new to me.

I love that through the arm shot. almost looks like you are looking though a closet blind or something.

Sean, I like this camera too but by no means is it superior quality stuff. I would swap this out in a heartbeat for a rebel xti. But for $300 I don't think it can be beat for a year or two.

just running, i was warming up the engine, pulled over to check the temp, and when idling it went *ching*, and i knew that this meant trouble :D, and it was sirio kanai EVO2 with very good pinch :(, too bad the splitted rod damaged also the piston and sleeve, so i was toasted :(

and some other insignificant non funny names

lol instructions are funny.

For anyone trying to get nice macros: practice. I have an old point and shoot from 3 years ago, but practicing with different lighting and techniques I can get a nice shot or two for every 20-30 shots I take. Its a lot of fun to play around with this stuff, at least for me.:)

It was a little muddy out today and I wanted to protect the Spektrum in the T4, so I made a little guard (it looks pointless, but the way mud and dirt was coming in it stopped it completely after I put it on and put my mind at rest :P)
