Hey guys, I thought this would be a cool topic. What was your VERY VERY first r/c car that you bought or were given. I'm sure most of us were like 6 when you got your first r/c, so what was it?
My 1st: It was an F1 car, but I forget who made it, but the transmitter was the most awesome thing ever. The TX was a glove and when you tilted your hand forward, the car would go forward, lean your hand back and it'd kick it into reverse, same idea applied with turning.
From then I've been getting into bigger and faster vehicles.

I had this Niko Truck. I SOOO will post up pics later on today.
It was awesome, I ran if over lego blocks and ran it into peoples leg. It was great.
I'm really not sure about age, but I have been in RC for a extremely long time. I think I was 3-5yrs old when I first got that Niko Truck. Now I am 16, I started nitro at the age of 15, last year when I joined this forum.

Losi JR-T. It was a cool truck.
Golden Arrow FTW! Indestructible! By the time I finished drilling and modifying it it was doing things Radio Shack never dreamed of :D
They don't build them like they used to......
The first one I ever spent "real money" on was this one back in 92-93 http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=236713

I remember when I was about 7 years old I had a radioshack MT and this thing was awesome, it looked looked like a cheap mini version of the savage with the same body, except it was a hard shell. Anyways I was driving it around and I was trying to drive around my parent's car and I accidentally drop right under it which snapped one of the shocks. I remember that moment, from over 13 years ago, I tried repairing it but it was destroyed. Awesome thing, my mom took it back and got it replaced :D. Then I started an R/C club at my Jr. school and like 15 people joined, then it got taken over by the school because it was such a success haha.

my first was this near-indestructable Nikko Chevy truck (im talking launching it down those Fisher-Price slides, watching it tumble down 20-30 feet down a hill, and driving it back up since it ALWAYS landed upright). I'd probably still have it if I didnt get it wet. :(
first "hobby" grade RC was a Tamiya TL-01 (Pennzoil Nismo GTR). I think iluvmud has it, if he didnt sell it off somewhere.
EDIT: found a pic of the nikko's tx:

I think this was my first rc car. Its been way to loooong ago. I know it was a cox, and it looked very similar (still remember that big battery box/receiver/servo). I just thought there was more room on the chassis. I had put a laaaarge airplane fuel tank in it, and would run it for hours.

The Mauri Big Bear was my first R/C as well. I have recently restored some of my old R/C cars, but I couldn't find the main diff gear for the Big Bear. I always had trouble with that car stripping the idler gear and main diff gear.

My VERY first RC was pretty pathetic. Not sure of the name but it was one of those single channel cars. where all you could do is pull the trigger. If you pulled the trigger it went forward and straight, if you let go of the trigger it went in reverse and turned its tires to the left. idk, kind hard to explain, im sur a few of you guys know what im talking about though.
My first hobby grade was a stampede, which unfortunatly i sold.

The first one I can remember was a Bat mobile (the original Adam West days) that only turned one way in reverse back in the 70's! My first true RC was a Grasshopper back around 82' or 83'. Man I'm old!

I'm a late entry to RC , and started off borrowwing a grasshopper with a 2 stick radio. After it crashed into a rock, I needed to repair it for the owner and wound up buying Him a brand new super hornet kit because it was nearly as cheap. I beat that thing into ground and ruined a lot of stuff on it.
My very first RC order was a 959 superbrain charger and a Duratrax Evader ST. They had both just came out at the time and who what an improvement.

My first was a Tamiya Stadium Blitzer. Stayed up late building it and started playing with it in the living room until my parents yelled at me to go to bed and stop pissing off the dog. It was great, I miss it.
