At high temps, the difference between the glow plug IR sensor and the venom head mounted sensor can be as much as 45 degrees.

71.6,72.1 close enough? Find someone with a third temp meter, warm your
motor up and compare all three.

read again. They are consistent with their other models, the two types are different in readings at higher temps.

That is why I said to warm the engine up and
compare all three. I also get some strange readings
with my Venom onboard. Try to rotate the sensor on
the probe wire away from the exhaust port as far as you can.
I trust my handhelds more and use the Venom as a batt. meter-failsafe.

The venom can give you odd readings when the sensor drifts around the motor near the exhaust, it has to be completely on the other side of the engine. When it is, however, it should give proper readings.........should.

I like my glow plug sensors. The problem here is that I have to set the venom failsafe at 325 degrees to run the engine properly at 275.

Yea I forgot to mention that I have mine set at 330.
I hope it will back my motor down before it gets to real 300.
