I'd like to build a 1:18 scale AWD truck/truggy/stadium with speed as the first priority and stable handling at speed as the second. I plan to start from scratch and buy a graphite chasis first and add parts and pieces to it as budget and time allows.
I'm thinking that the Associated RC18T would be a good platform for this. Are there other trucks I should be considering?
What parts, general or specific, should I be looking for? For example, it strikes me that aluminum arms & turnbuckles would be good for stability but the added weight may slow the truck down, thoughts on this?
I'm also looking for a bulletproof drivetrain, so the MLST is out. Is the RC18T drivetrain capable of handling speed/abuse, or is there another 1:18 truck that would be a better choice?
Thanks.
