Once agian Traxxas has outdone themselves, but if I had one the first thing I would do is upgrade it to a TRX2.5R.

never even seen one run, but looks like it would be fun. Probably needs a wheelie bar.... 2.5 would be nuts in this thing, you'd never keep the wheels down!

That's not too bad price wise IMO. I will consider buying one for my first nitro... Not really looking for that much speed (It's in the low to mid 30's right?) and I love the monster truck look!

thats really cheap compared to whats out there. i'm sure by using the old .15 that helps to keep the cost down. i wonder if they refurbished all those old trade-ins from everyone?

I, for one, am disappointed. At least on the electrics they have put a better motor and esc. I would've put money that the 2.5 would have made it to the stampede and maybe a wheelie bar.

I really like the new look, I'm considering trying one out for my first nitro also. It does'nt really need a 2.5, the TRX .15 is a great engine for starters, it's not too powerful and it's easy to maintain.

Based on my experience with the electric 'Pede, one of these would be a hoot. I kind of wish I had tried one of these as my first nitro instead of jumping in head first and buying a Savage SS kit. I'd bet I probably would have had as much fun, but with less hassle.

Eh, I think I will stay with brushless though...

I've had an electric and nitro stampede (older version of course), and I must say the nitro 'pede wasn't half the fun as its electric counterpart. It just wasn't as stable at speed and never went the direction you wanted it to go (wheels almost never made good contact).

Anyways, I think this is getting out of hand. There are only so many things you can do to a car/truck until it gets old. They are playing with designs that are literally 14 years old, and this is not the first time they have redone these cars. If anything, use this engineering time to make a new car. I would rather see a new nitro buggy or something of that nature than to see their entire line revamped. No person can deny Traxxas' ability to engineer awesome rides, heck, they have turned the whole world of R/C upside down several times over (Nitro Hawk, Stampede, T-Maxx, Revo . . .) I just feel that they could be doing something more productive in their R&D department; these are awesome rides, don't get me wrong...but they are old. Let them be the fun old school rides that they are. They don't need to be revamped to make them fun. My stampedes are each 9 years old, and I would say they are just as much fun today as they were the day I bought them.

Just my $0.02 :)

Atleast people that have Traxxas models can always purchase spare parts when they need it, that's good business sense, and customer support.
