View Full Version : SST 98 to AXIS ?
Is there a conversion for the SST2000 98 to convert it into the AXIS ?
If not are the front and the rear the same on both cars ? If so could I just get the Axis chassis, upper deck , motor mount belts and gears to convert the SST 98 ?
I know its porbably all on the Schumacher website but each time I try to open it my Internet Explorer breaks down (thatīs no joke !)
Thanx for your help !

I know that there is a conversion kit, I looked into it myself but decided to get a new TC altogether. I have seen a converted car, so I am positive that there is one, the guy told me he paid $99 for it. It contains the upper and lower decks, and both transmissions, because they are different too. I tried to find the part # on the schumacher website www.racing-cars.com (http://www.racing-cars.com) but wasn't able to. Sorry.
Thank you for the info !
$99 is half a a brand new car . So at the moment I am not sure if its worth it .
Any comments ?
Actually I would like to get a TC3 because I like the idea of a shaft driven car.
Can someone tell me what the differences in handling are between the Axis and the TC3 ?
At the moment I find it hard to dial in steering on my SST98 . Will converting to an Axis give me more steering ?

I got to drive the Schumacher Axis today. I didn't notice any difference between the Axis and my '98 SST2000. I'm not going to waste my money on the conversion. At this point I think its just a gimmick for Schumacher to make some cash from the racers who already own one of their cars. It doesn't do what it promises, don't buy it. I've been told that the mid-motor Cat handles and drives exactly like the rear-motor Cat. Heard this from a dedicated Schumacher man who has been racing for many years.

Well, since I bashed on Schumacher for a minute, I do have to say that they make the BEST touring car micro-shocks I have ever worked with (which is most of the top brands). They are easy to work on, change settings on, they don't leak, and they really work very well. And they are purple, not blue, and everybody knows that purple aluminum is much faster than blue aluminum.
