Anyone ever seen or driven one of these before? They're pretty neat little cars. It's a 1:12 scale carpet racer from the 80's. There's a 15-turn Speed Gems Pro in there now and boy does she scoot! I'm liking the Porsche 956 body!

It's currently being disassembled and cleaned up a bit. The paint isn't the best, so I'm fixing that and there are a couple of cracks that are getting fixed. Not to bad for a body from the 80's though I suppose.

Here are the pictures of before I started:

The Super Rooster is coming out possible with the motor too. I want to get some sort of Novak racing ESC and a low turn motor. I plan on building a nice 4 cell pack for her too, since that's what these little cars were made for in the first place.

Anyone know if 1:12 carpet wheels/tires are standard? Will modern wheels/tires fit?

More pictures to come...

I thought it was a good find... There was an Airtronics receiver with it too, but I can't use that... I only have Futaba and Traxxas radios. I ended up paying the price of Novak Rooster for all of that! That was with shipping even! What a steel!

Oh yeah... Most of the non-Porsche and Canon decals are gone. Too many decals for my liking...

My collection is up to nine now...

Modern 1/12th wheels and tires will probably fit it. Are those e-clips holding the fronts on? You might have to adapt some modern hubs/wheels to that rear axle, but your LHS could help you if you ran into problems. You could go with a whole new rear axle setup if you had to. If it's steel, you might wanna go to CF anyway.

Man, you should try to lower that body a bit... it looks like an offroad 956 now, eh? :D

Make it lowwwwwwwww.

No e-clips... It has a spindle setup with 2mm axles and 3mm lock nuts to hold the wheels on. As for the body height... It was just sitting on there. The front posts weren't even through the holes. You may have something there with the rear axle. I'm worried about chewing up that drive gear some how. Are most 1:12 axles 5mm like this one is?

I'm pretty much done with it right now. The body is going to bug me because it was poorly painted, but what can you do? I just fixed it as best I could and sealed it up, since that hadn't been done. I will be installing a 9-turn Trinity Speed Gem Pro motor and will get an ESC one of these days. Now a question on gearing. That probably uses metric gears doesn't it? Being made in Japan. It has a 19-tooth on there now, but I have a feeling I'll need to go a bit lower for that 9-turn. I would post pictures, but I doubt you'd notice much of a difference. Since it's an on-road car, it wasn't too dirty. Just less decals on the body and a few other small things...

Not sure if I'll run a 9-turn or not now. I'm probably going to be installing a GM V6R ESC, which only has a 12-turn limit. I'm not sure. All I know is that I want to get that ESC so I can get this thing back on the road and get some fresh pictures up!
