Well... i have the light weight chassis... and if i'm correct the chassis is no lighter than a few grams from the original chassis... as for what type of material it's made of, i'm guessing styrene...

One thing you can do with the stock chassis is take a rotary tool and cut out sections of the chassis. It helps it a lot. I took 4 ounces of plastic off the stock chassis. This does not affect flexing or strength of the chassis. If you have the plastic shocks(no oil), you can add a small spacer to the shock shafts to lower the car.

I've the LW Chassis too. It's only about 2 or 3 grams lighter. I think it's the same plastic, just thinner maybe??? I dunno. I got it cuz I want a tricked out ride. For those who know me, I've got one of the most trick TL in here. I have a site and pics of it, but I promised admin I wouldn't link to it anymore. If you do a search for "My Project TL01" you may be able to pull up the original thread and it has a link in it, if not just email me and I'll send you the addy. =)

Man who could forget you? You have the shweetest lookin 'stang ever! and im sure what's under the hood is really tricked out... cause im doin the same... but i have a ? for you... what type of diffs you got? cause i have ball diffs in ther rear and a one-way unit in the front... i got from the TA-03RS TRF kit... for the body im using a Honda Civic SI... and the body is gonna be slammed

Unfortunately, I still have the stock gear diffs, but I'm hoping to get a lightweight ball diff in the next day or two. My ? for you is, what difference does the one way diff up front have on the handling and top speed of the car. I had a YR4M a LONG time ago and it had a one-way diff... I couldn't keep the car from spinning out when I got on the brakes. :(

Hmm if i recall the front one-way unit helps corning on tracks... ya know, a track with lots of tight turns here and there... i think... if anyone here can contest to what i said, feel free to correct me  ;)

I was thinking about putting a one way diff in the front of my tao2 but i don't get what they mean by one way does it only engage in forward then free spins in reverse is that what they mean by one way?

What they mean is when the tranny is engaged... the gears move... and when the the tranny isnt moving... the "wheel" move forward freely... this is because of the one-way bearing inside... does that help?

It does help but i dont see how that would make the car faster or handle better i guess i would just have to try it out.

Ok, then I think I understand why my old YR4M always spun out... Billy think of it this way. When you're on the throttle the motor is spinning the entire drivetrain, so the whole system is "engaged". Get it? When you let off the throttle, the motor isn't providing and more power so the front wheels free-wheel and offer no rolling resistance so you don't slow down as much.
The problem I experienced then must have been becuase the rear wheels were locking up and since the front wheels could free-wheel the car spun. To fix it I guess I could turn down the brakes on my G12cIII.
I'll have to think about it. BY THE WAY!!!!
I got my ball diffs!! Each one has the lightweight pressure plates and I only paid $40 on ebay!!!!

Like i mentioned before... the one-way diff wasnt meant to increase speed... but was meant to handle tight turns on tracks with a lot of cornering...

Hey project... did you also get 3mm carbide diff balls? they are smooth like a baby's um... you know :D and are worth havin ;)

I started a forum on the TLO1, but no one visits it I guess. My TLO1 isn't really tricked out, I put all my racing stuff on my TC3. I have one TLO1 I turned into a rally car.

Ok that makes more sense to me now.But on tower hobbies they have a super one way diff and on the tech notes it said it's suppose to increase straitaway speeds and improve handling is this the same one way diff you are talking about? :p
Thank's for the info guys.

Oh come on guys, you all know I have the most tricked out TL. Only Killer's TL will beat mine... IF he ever gets his little project off the ground. :D
I haven't gotten the carbide balls yet, but I'll get them eventually, I want to get the rest of my main goals and then focus on more little things. Right now I'm just tryin' to get my poor motor runnin' fast again. :(

If I ever get it off the ground. Its getting there. Now I just need some $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Sometime in Ocotber I expect when it will get started. Thats if I dont get involved in the rice burner scene to much. My parents exact words "no more buying parts for your r/c until you get a car preferably a rice burner". lol. but I figure the less money I spend on getting a little CRX the sooner I can get my project going. now If I do this right I can fit it with 12 cells a Novak/Traxxas 14.4 volt ESC and a 6x1 Peak Nebula and try to break into the 70-90 mph range(like that would really happen but you never know) All well. I'll post a list of parts I'm getting as soon as I find out if I'm getting a ESC from a guy.

Whos your daddy????????
