I was wondering. How much of a run time difference is there between a 1700 mHa and a 2000 mHa battery on the stampede. About how lomg of run time would that be. And the stampede comes with a mechanical speed control. Whats so baad about them when I'm just goining to be messing around with it in my backyard during the "off season"?

I can't tell you about the run times for your stampede batteries, but I can tell you why an electric speed control is better than mechanical. First of all, mechanical controls over time develope "dead spots" on the resistors, and therefore messes up acceleration. They also can get hurt or damaged more easily than an ESC. ESC's also take up less space, and you can get a good esc for under 40$, like the Duratrax Spike or other kinds like that. Duratrax and Traxas both make a 35$ ESC thats reversible.
