my batterys seem to be very hot after a run what could it be i know about hte increased amp draw so should they be that hot?

Hot to touch? Or just hot enough to say "Man, that's a hot battery!" :)

Is the motor really hot too? Usually if everything is hot, you are geared too high, and you can go down a tooth or two on the pinion. On the other hand, if you are driving around for a long time, and the ambient temperature is high, stuff just seems to get hot after a while.

Bryceums, Yor running that 11 double with the 18 tooth right? How long do you run it befor the battery dumps (runs out). You probably need to go to the 17 tooth pinion.
Let me know where your at with the motor & gearing.

the motors not that hot i am running 18 and 84 and my guess is i get about 5 minutes of run time

with running such a low wind moter chances are the there is a lot of draw on the battery.if the battery is so hot the shrink wrap is cracking the there is a problem some where{possibl a dead cell** if its just to hot to handle just allow it to cool down before you charge it

no the shink wrap is not craking at all
