Slide the two prongs around behind the flywheel, then screw the t-handle threaded rod in (which will put pressure against the crankshaft), and the prongs will pull the flywheel right off.

that sounds like it would damage my rod more or less, i would prefer the "bang on table" method.

Au contrair (contrare, idk, never took french!), ericem! For very stubborn flywheels, this is definitely the best method. Banging on a table or with a hammer, you risk bending the crankshaft or damaging it in some other fashion by hitting it at an angle. With this (automotive units are called gear pullers), it applies a very centralized and linear, parallel-to-shaft force, and pulls the flywheel off with relative ease. Plus it looks really, really trick.

not bad. one of the better of the axial products that have for some reason been flooding this forum lately.
btw-I wouldn't drive that point into the end of my crankshaft. I would thread a screw into the crankshaft and let the tip of puller come in contact with the head of screw.

It is basicly a just nice looking Puller. Something good to have around the shop if the price is right. It really does seem Axial to be releasing many new and interesting products over the last few months. :)

As josh says, it's just a normal puller...i'm a mechanic and have used pullers many times and it's the best way to get stubbern parts off.

My dad got one of those from Advanced auto parts. Works like a charm. It only takes about 2-3 turns on the crank to get it to come loose after screwing the pin down onto the crank.

LOLOL i just realized right now that it puts no force whatsoever against the rod NVM how can i be so blind?????

beats a micro tourch, hammer and wrench :D
Curious how much this is? I got a smaller puller from the father in law that works great, worried the crap out of me the first time I pulled off a stubborn flywheel, made a loud pop but everything was good to go.
