If you want to jump the T3 can jump pretty good. If you want to get into racing I would definitely get the T3. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

(just a note, this is coming from a losi guy, but then again i bought a tc3...)

the xxxt is a far superior truck to the t3, in every regard. however for the same price you can get a FT t3, which has alot more upgrades.

the xxxt is much easier to jump, is more stable, is easier to work on, wont be replaced nearly as soon. and its a much more forgiving car. you just have to drive it to realize how great it is.

but if you are short on money then get the FT t3, it may seem steep once you get it, however the upgrades will soon pay for themselves since you wont have to buy more spare parts, it will also drive better too.

the ruslter is good very rough stuff, like racing in basic backyard tracks, but if you get on clay, its problems will really show, not to mention the huge lack of aftermarket stuff.,

but if you have the money go xxxt, but the FT t3 is a great racing car that you will have for years. (or more likely 2-3, these things wear out by then, and you will probably want a new model too, and in about 1 year, or a year and a half the t4 should come out, but AE should have tons of parts out there for the t3, or depending on how great of a truck the t4 is)

Speedy, I have all three and tey are very different animals. The Stampede is the most fun to drive. It is suprisingly quick and has good agility for a bigger truck. It's a lot of fun to jump and handles abuse well. The Rustler is a good solid truck well suited to a beginner. It is nearly indestructible, easy to work on and has the potential to be hopped up well enough to be competitive. Also it is a good value, as is the Stampede. The T3 is definately the thoroughbred of the group. If you plan to race it is your only choice. The T3 is a lot of fun to "play" with but it shines on the track. So the question is what do you want your vehicle to do? Hope this helps. Have you looked at the latest issue of RCCA with the truck shootout?

i think the stampede because it is stock faster than the rustler and it can take jumps very very well.

For starters... two of my friends an I got started racing about 2 years ago. I got Losi, one of my friends got associated, and the other got traxxs. My buddy with the traxxs car had problems 3 days after he got it. As for myself and my other friend, our cars ran and still run great. Although when we first got our cars, my losi truck was faster and stronger... and it still is.

SO, GO LOSI! if not then go associated... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/tongue.gif

The dirt spec Losi xxxt or RTR GT would be a great choice. Always get the best you can afford for your first car because then when you get the urge to go faster and maybe race you can do it competitively without having to get a new truck.

a rtr truck isnt always a good idea. the t3 rtr doesnt come with the best esc, and it comes with a bad radio, you could buy all of the stuff serperate for less.

its actually a very good idea to build it, a 2wd staduim is very basic, and easy to build, the hardest part i would say is the diff, but thats easy to learn how to do. and you will always have to rebuild shocks. also if you build it, you know how to tear it down if it breaks. if you are going to race, building the car is a good idea.

Sigh , dont buy a ready to run. Unless you have some kind of disability, build your car. You will have a better understanding of what to do when it breaks. Dont be intemidated , Associated kits have great instructions.

I have to agree about building is better than rtrs sometimes. i mean to me, building is half the fun, but thats me. More to the point, when u build u know how it works. The t3s esc is decent, esecially if you r new, sure beats the mscs some kits come with...and i cant argue about the radio...for just cheap play its mabye okay but for anything more you'll want a better one.

This is a typical question. Do you want to race or be a backyard fun runner. If you want to race have a fast and tough truck get the t3. If your gonna be a backyard runner save some money and get the rustler. It is also an excellent fast tough truck, just not competitive in the race world.
