I'm having this weird problem with our (wife and I) micro t. It seems like it won't hold a charge. We'll plug it in to the charger and the red light will turn off in like 2 min, and then the battery will die in a min. To get the battery fully charged we have to keep unplugging the battery and plug it back in, even then it last 3 or 4 min. Any ideas?

Change the batteries in the stock charger if that's what you're using. Or... make an adapter and charge using a regular charger (this is what I do; MUCH better).

I'm going to get the adapter that losi is selling (only $3). I use a Duratrax digital prahina (sp), so what setting should I use so I don't kill the battery? I also plan on picking up some extra packs.

my super brain charged it @ .5 amps or 1 amp i think ...... i would go with the lowest setting you have and check it every so often ...

I'll get the the adapter when I get paid on Monday. What mV/C setting should I use on it to? Thanks again for the help.

The only setting you should change is the amps. Your charger can charge between .1-3 (assuming you use AC power), so I'd set it at .5 amps. If you aren't getting the power you want, charge at 1 amp. This will charge faster, give it more power, but the run times will not last as long. Do some experimenting. :)

I'm using ac power. I'll look at my lhs for the part because thetoyz.com is out of stock. I'll start at .5 amps and i'll teach my wife how to use it.

Charge it at .1-.2. The stock battery is 150mah; charging at 1 amp is a 6C charge rate! Things get a little toasty for my liking....:p

I use a vision peak ultra mega super duper thingy (the real name of the charger is in there somewhere). Anyways, I charge at .1-.2 amps; I'm waiting for losi's lipo kit though (what else am I supposed to run a brushless conversion on?)..:D

Pfft, toasty is good! The only mini battery I charge is the Mini-T, which is at 2 amps (yes, I'm crazy). I assumed that the Micro-T would be no different, and I recommended what I am planning to do on my own Micro-T. Maybe I'll have a Toasty-T? :D

The TL LiPo is out! Full set (Charger+Battery) is $40. I'm gonna get it.

Backordered it last night...;)

(Mini-T battery is a MUCH higher capacity than the Micro-T battery btw...:p)

I agree... .5-1.0A is MUCH too high for these tiny packs. I'd stay at .3 or under most definately.
Otherwise, did you get the right batteries in the charger? The Alkalines go in the charger and the Heavy Duties go in the transmitter.
If you've used it a few times, replace the batteries in it with some new energizers or Fugis or something of equivalent quality. Just MAKE SURE you use alkalines. Heavy Duties and Industrials are too weak.

I got the right batteries in the charger. I have to head up to Vacaville today anyways so I'll swing by the Hobbytown and see if they have the charging the adapter, if not i'll just get new batteries.

You can make one on your own if you're feeling ambitious (probably for the cost of a set of alkalines too)...:D I'll make you one if you REALLY want (and if you use Deans or Tamiya connectors). I think I have the stock connectors still since I switched over to micro deans 2 pin connectors.

Oh, only about 12 times the capacity.

Yes, I know, but I still thought that .5 would work. Guess not...

It'll work, but you're A) pushing the limits of the little battery, thus increasing chances of fire, danger, etc. and B) you're shortening the life span of the battery the higher you charge it.

I got the part today, last one in stock, woohoo! I charged it at .2 amps. There was still some juice left in the pack. How long would it take to completly (sp) charge?

From a fully drained state, roughly 45 minutes (200 mAh and a 150 mAh battery, so .15 divided by .2 is .75, and since it's amp hours, 60 times .75 is 45 minutes. So give or take 10 minutes or so depending on state of charge).
