hey iv been running my tt-01 for the least year with no problems, but recently it wont even run, it simply strips the spur gear. I've replaced the bearings, pinion gear, spur gear of course ( a half dozen or so times) cleaned and lubed the thing meticulously, remounted the engine, done EVERYTHING i can think of and yet it still strips the gear right off the line. any suggestions as to the cause of this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

gear mesh is too loose. Put a piece of paper in between the gears, press the motor and pinion against the paper and spur, tighten the screws, and pull out the piece of paper. If it rips, you're too tight. If it slides out easily and the mesh is visibly loose, try it again and push harder. Hope this helps.
welcome to rcz btw

Are you sure you are using the correct mounting holes on the motor mount? Other than incorrect installation, it can be only a few things:
1 You may have inadvertently replaced the spur or pinion with the wrong ones
2 The motor mount itself may be worn out (if its the plastic one)
3 The holes in the chasis where the bearings are located for the spur gear are worn or oblong (not likely, but its a possibility especially if you had a bearing go bad and overheat and melt the plastic)
If you can, double check the teeth on your pinion and spur and post back what they are.
uhh the tt 01 uses a static mount system, its impossible to get the mesh off unless
1. did you double check the manual to make sure you are using the right clock position for mounting the motor with that spur and pinion combo?
2. the motor mount is really worn and sloppy, you should see this visually
3. It uses a metric pitch pinion, have you recently got new pinions, a 48 pitch pinion looks okay on the .6 spurs but it will wear them just like you describe. If you walked into a hobby shop and asked for a 22 tooth pinion they would give you a 48 pitch 99% of the time assuming you were a losi, associated, traxxas, well pretty much everything except tamiya owner. To make it worse tamiya has .4 metric .5 metric and .6 metric. In the .6 that you need if your pinion is from robinson it should say 1122 or 1123 etc depending on tooth count, if you have 1022 or 1023 you have the standand 48pitch version which obviously don't work.
hope that helps
ed is faster with the send button lol

Thanks guys, hopefully I'll have it fixed tomorrow. The clock position was off, dont know about the pinion gear if it was the right size I'm going in tomorrow for a new one and a new spur, hopefully it'll work now, thanks.
