I am looking for info on good cheap mod motors. Bruckner has some Orion Pilot for 14.99 and some Orbital 2 Mach for 19.99. Tower has some Monsters of touring for 17.99. I am lookign for some good cheap motor info. If you have anything to say please do.

I just picked up a Peak Performance Thunderbolt, only $20 and it came with SMC. But I think I will buy Speed Gems because of the ball bearings and adjustable timing. I think the RCCA said the Orion Mach Mod 2 was the same as the Thunderbolt too.

I forget, there were 2 PEAK motors that if they clashed would be ultimate cheap motors, but one had adjustable timing + removable endbell, but no bearings, while another had bearings, + an epoxy balanced armerature, but no removable endbell, my best bet is the Speed Gems2 for the best cheap motor

XXXER - You are getting bad information. The Peak Thunderbolt has fixed timing with bushings and is available in triple winds in 10,11,12,13,14,17,19,21, and 23 turns.
The Peak Stratos has adjustable timing and ball bearings with triple winds in 11,12,13,14,17, and 19 turn configurations.
Both use the same can, armature, and endbells as Peak's highest level hand wound modified motors and come with SMCs.
RCCAs budget motor shootout rated them equal to or better than any other budget motors.

Go for the Monsters of Touring. I have the 15x2 in my B3 and I love it. At least ten runs so far and I haven't noticed any performance decrease. I've raced with it once before and, surprisingly, I can keep up with the other guys. It's probably because of my gearing, though (23 tooth pinion and stock spur, which is 85, I think).
