Well, after spending over $300 in upgrades I figured it was time to finally hit the track to see what my newly upgraded girl could to. Here's a few shots of her before her brand new virgin body would become scratched and dirty.

9 miles down the road and it was time to get some more practice in and kick up some dirt!

Cue Dukes of Hazzard music and a yeeeeehaaa!

This is where it got ugly. After a hard nose landing from the above picture, the silicon exhaust coupler tore completley in half leaving me a VERY loud and pissed off engine that I proceeded to burn the crap outa my finger on the header trying to shut the damn thing off. Sigh....so I drive back 9 miles to town and luckly my LHS has some in stock. Grab it, go get a Powerade and rush back to the track to bandage my baby. Fire it up and off I go again!!

Amazingly enough, after THIS shot as well after only 20 minutes after I got back, I hit the next mogul to slow and cartwheeled the truck into the hill. Flipped it over and was still running but....ahhh damnit, my steering servo horn broke completely in half! Grrrrrrr........!!! Not only was my truck of commission but by the time I got back my LHS had already closed. Noooooo!!!!! First thing monday im getting a farking aluminum servo horn and a new coupler with some heavy duty zip ties.

Im planning on getting a new Canon camera soon cause I gave my old one away for christmas. Im using my girlfriends old Fugifilm digital for the pictures but the movie mode is utter crap and no sound.

How was that costly? It doesn't seem like a whole lot broke.

New silicon engine coupler pack $4
Gas wasted going from track and back twice. Approx $2.75
New servo horn $6-10

Approx $18 for about an hours worth a racing.

I've had worse. But i was launching my truck off 15 foot cliffs. You were just racing. That would be pretty bad.

i went to the track, got one lap in and the my stering servo gernaded. $55 later got it back on the track, the i bent the shock tower, shock shaft and cracked the diff housing. 15 min at the track and i gave in to just watching and helping my buddy out.

I, personally, wouldn't be too quick to replace the servo horn with an aluminum one. Remember that when certain forces occur, something's gotta give. Usually one parts easier to replace than another (suspension arms vs. bulkheads is the big one i've seen in my own cars). Granted, a better horn might have a more adjustable spring so you can get your steering to the point where it will rebound and not break.

Nice truck, and nice pics man.

About that breakage...it sucks...but that's cheap. I usually break each truck worse than that every time I take them out, and I've got more monster trucks than I have fingers.

yea, im not suer ifur servo is MG but if its plastic, keep the horn as plastic, if its metal your a little better off...

AS someone has said, somethin does need to give and if its a $2.00 servo horn rather than $11.00 worth of arms...i think the horn is a better price...

dude are you running a servo saver??

without a servo saver that thing would have goen LONG time ago... remember they are not perfect.

aluminum=glitching on digital or high end analog servos. just get yourself a good thick plastic one with a coupla spares.
oh and $18 for a day of racing isn't bad. i've had MUCH worse

Yeah $18 is cheap. The last time I went racing it cost me $70, granted a lot of that was buying things to get my new car setup properly but still.

One question though.... when was the last time anybody used that track? I mean there is grass growing up out of the jumps lol. Either way a track is a track and is a whole lot better then none.

Hey, the land is free and the guy who owns the construction company doesn't charge us to use it and do whatever we want with it, so we don't complain.

I don't think I'd complain either. That's awesome man.

Come on guys...I thought everyone knew that Traxxas ditched the garbage servo mounted servo saver setup when they designed the Revo and built the saver into the bellcrank, the way it should be. That's half the reason Revos actually turn when you tell them to.

As for the servo horn thing...if you run a good radio, you shouldn't have glitching problems with an aluminum horn, but there's an easier solution to the problem. Dubro servo horns (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD669&P=7) (or the ones that come in the box with high torque Hitec servos) are very, very stout. That's what I run on my Revo.

And the servo...I'm about 99% sure that's a JR Sport 125MG or 126MG (the updated 125). It's a metal geared servo with 142 oz/inches of torque. He won't have problems with that in a Revo. It's a dialed setup, especially for the price.

And IceWind...I really like the look of your truck. Very clean and simple, and the color scheme looks great. How about some body-off pics?

I was nitro racing and i got tangled at the first corner. 5 min later im back at first then my clutch goes off its collet. I pushed it a little too hard

I wouldn't say that track is huge, for a offroad track it's pretty normal and it looks nice I was just saying something about the grass groing out of it. You have no clue what I would do to have a offroad track around here (that will allow electric), onroad is fun but there is nothing like 2wd mod buggy.

well compaerd to onroad indoor its fairly large..but i guess for outdoor nos its about rite

one time i was running my tmaxx and i hit a jump too hard and it broke the pos engine mount, and made the bell chew up the spur and took a nice chunk out of the chassi plate.

lol, kinda ironic but i just broke bell crank on my maxx today, luckily i had a spare, ordered a better servo saver :P
