Ok, after playing around, I decided to see how far I could make my T3 jump. There is a 4 foot hill near my house and I've been jumping it. Unfortunately, the runway up to it is grass so I can't hit top speed and the hill is uneve, but I figured what the heck, I might as well see what she can do after babying it. After several runs approaching 20 feet (using the time honored method of walking it out), I switched to a Dahm's Spitfire body which is slammed and flat, and gave myself some more ride height in front and made a jump of 26 feet with the truck landing on the rear wheels and kicking up to a wheelie for another 15 feet!!!!!
Set up
Factory Team T3
40wt oil and Green Springs.Front and Back
Holeshot tires in back
Edge tires up front
Dahm's Spitfire body
14T Double
2000's cells
Novak Fusion
This is it with a Cyberbuggsy top. It's a good top for on or off road but the way I have it jacked up, it has WAY too much down force in the back for jumping.

So the question is my fellow jump nuts, what is YOUR LONGEST jump??? I don't want to hear about your friends car or something you saw in a magazine, just YOUR jump in which your car landed cleanly. I know 26 feet is nothing so I'm working at trying to double mine on a street jump with a clean ramp.

Well I have only gotten 6 feet out of mine but it was a two foot ramp at the end of my short lil driveway. However, after I go to the track this weekend I hope to have my truck in jump form, to make mine the best jumper around the neighborhood. Which with me having the only truck will be a walk in the park, but friends are catching on. I have a XXX-T and I am buying an aluminum rear pivot block, lunsfords new super duty titanium turnbuckles, some stiffer springs and thats all I can conjure up spending pn my truck for the moment since I tore apart my diff racing against a goped, 20 bucks down the drain :(

i dont really got for distance just hieght, i think ive gotten b3 to land at least a 9 footer over my sisters head(9 ft up dont know about out) i hat a 5 gallon bucket with a 4 foot piece of plywood on it id say it was 3.5 ft tall, so its a b3 with a reactor and a chrome touring 14 double

With my T3 and using my friends skateboard jump got about 16 feet. After a few runs, I didn't land on the wheels and landed on the rear on the car. The impact smashed the metal cage coving the motor into it. When that happened the armature wobbled enough to shatter the magnets!! It was getting some serious air, but not worth $60!

ummmm...... my most is about 4 ft. lol.... i try not to jump mine a lot (rustler) b/c it always bottoms out and makes a loud smack on the concrete. and i can never land on all 4 wheels, it usualyy dives. i know i can fix this w/ heavier oil and different springs but i just havent found the time(getting my parents to drive an hour for the nearest hobby shop)

You can get big, BIG air at BMX tracks. I would say we were doing 20-25 feet on some exceptionaly good jumps. This was with XXT's and low turn mods.
I know we were getting really big air because a hapless BMX'er decided to walk accross the track while we were jumping. He quite literally got pegged directly in the forehead. OUCH !
This means we were getting 5-6 feet of air vertical and 25 feet or so horizontal.
Some of the most fun I have ever had with RC. OF course not one of us (out of like 6 (it was after a race)) went home with functioning vehicles :D

Jeepinator,
How far did the BMXer fly after taking a hit to the head? :D I bet he was just a little upset. :D :D
My jump is with a T-Maxx. A full speed run on the street in front of my house. Using a home made ramp. I got about 4' vertical and about 15-20' in distance.

I've got my XXX to about 20-25ft with a 13double. Off a 6ft motorbike jump in my backyard.

I talked to some of the guys who have trucks at my track. It's an TC track at the local hobby town but their is a truck class we race in. One of the guys is making a ramp for next Sunday and we're gonna liven things up with a jumping competition :)

Just recently I've found out that in the park by my school, kids have built TONS of BMX jumps! Yesterday I took my RC10GT out there...but some of the jumps had too much vertical to them so the car wouldn't clear to the other landing/jump. The car would end up smashing the rear or flipping over and crashing. I was taking it easy so I got the hang of it and this weekend I'm going out again to see if I can bend any of my mostly (the important parts) metal car.
I only get 35 feet at most (usuing a tape measurer). I dont really go for distance though. I'll take a picture of the BMX jumps I go to (I ride BMX too, so I know a ton of places). It has a roll in (downhill part) and I just go full throttle over all the jumps. I meant to hit the biggest one there but missed and hit a mellow-er jump which launched me about 20 feet...I'll point it out when I can.

i've got a T3 with a D4 six turn moter in it. I went to the skatepark and launched it in the pool.I got about 20 feet air straight up.unfortunately when it came down it shattered mo shock mounts and bent about everything. :p :D

After going to the track, I launched off of the tubing that lays out the track and got 4 and a half feet vertical. I broke some servo gears... Also, I did a nice 6-7 foot tumble with about 8 rolls when I hit the tubing coming off a jump. Didnt break a thing... God bless titanium. I am going to take my truck to either of 2 BMX sites pretty soon here. And then maybe a professional vert course for skate boarding and in-line skating.
P.S. I heard that half pipes are one of the funnest kinds of jumps to take a truck off of. :D

ammoace,
That BMX'er was too stunned to be mad at first. He was screaming like a pig for about 5 minutes. Then he calmed down and the bleeding slowed down a bit. He had a nice gash right above his right eye.
Man he got hit hard. After he stopped bleeding I asked him if he wanted to play with us ;)
He drove my truck for a bit and then left, complaining of a massive headache. He was old enough to take care of himself (like 17 or 18), but I always wondered if he was OK. Never saw him again ...
The guy who hit him was almost freaking out as bad as the guy who got hit. We all learned something that day. Too bad it was at the expense of someone not a part of our group.
I agree with the half-pipe comment. I played on one for hours one day with my Worlds Edition RC10. Talk about vertical air ! It took some luck and a ton of skill to be able to build up speed going back and forth. The dang thing was super slippery. We were doing a cool thing where I would get up some speed and then luanch off the end Then it was the job of a few other dudes to catch it. Once nobody caught it and CRUNCH into the pavemnt it went, from about 20 feet in the air. Well that was the end of that ...
I have seen an AE video tape where the whole team is messing around in a skate park. It looked SOOOOOOOO fun ! BIG BIG air.

I built a jump for my radio shack car. I got the car going about 14 mph down my gravel drive way it hit the jump and about 4 feet vertical and 6 feet horizontal. but I know the car goes 17.5mph with the body on. So I took the body off and it went 20mph (hard plastic body) and it went about 8 vertical and 15 horizontal. but when it landed the shock springs popped off. the shocks are friction damped could u help me find better oil filled shockes that will fit??
