I just got my charger and 6 batts from Tower friday and had a question. My charger is a duratrax intellipeak deluxe digital and can charge at a rate up to 6.5 amps, and the batts are Trinty/Sanyo RC 2400 Pro Racing Packs. It says on the packs the batts came in to charge at 3-4 amps which means 48 min at 3 amps and 36 min at 4 amps.I wanted to charge at 6.5 amps for 22 min and want to know if this will damage them? The batts were $41.99 a piece and I don't want to damage them.

Typically, if you charge the batteries at a higher rate, you may see a little more punch out of them. However, it comes at a cost: longevity. Charging at that rate will shorten the battery's life.

The recommended charge rate for 2400's is about 4-5 amps. I charge mine at 4.5.

I charge my ExSpec 1300 batteries at 4A, my 2400's at 4.5A and my 3000 at 5A. I tried 6.5 once for all my batteries and they got waaaaaay too hot.

Most people I know including myself charge 2400's at 5.0 amps it seams to be the best rate for longevity and punch but the final decision is yours.. :D

i charge mine at 6 amps with an integy 16x2 pro with out problems, they get warm but not hot, i have been charging 2000's at this same rate and i'm still using them after almost 2 years with no bad effects.
