Belts - How Tight?

I've built my first belt driven car (RS4 Rally) and since I have nothing to compare it to...How tight should the belts be?? The longest belt seems VERY loose and the tensioner doesn't help a whole lot. I have yet to drive it, so for all I know it might be fine.

You don't need to tighten it as much as you think. My first belt driven was a RS4 MT, and my tensioner isn't that tight and the belt seems loose, but that slack that you see of feel tightens us when you hit the throttle. the rotational force gets rid of the slack. Hope that helps.

Your not paranoid, when you get a car it just seems right the belts are tight but you actually want them loose. Does that back belt seem loose too? You will want that one to have a bit of play in it also.
