I was wondering what determines how fast a battery charges. Is it the battery or the charger? I was thinking of getting a couple if 2400 batteries and the new Vision charger or the Duratrax Intellipeak mini.I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive. My cousin has a Pirahna and 1700 and it takes forever to charge.I'd appreciate any help in making my decision.

The only thing that really effects the time at which a battery takes to charge is the Amps setting. For instence, if you charge a 2000mAh pack at 4.5 amps, it will take longer than if you charge the same pack at 5 amps. Think of the mAh rating as the size of the bucket. The Amp setting on your charger is how fast the water is filling the bucket. Ok, so lets do a little math. (Yea, I hate it too) A 2000 mAh pack is the same as a 2 Amp pack. 1000mAh = 1 Amp. If we are charging at a rate of 4.5 amps, we would divide 2 into 4.5. That will give you 22.5. Therefore, it will take approximately 22.5 minutes to charge the pack.
